PROJECT OF THE WEEK - FAUX SILK BACKGROUND TECHNIQUE

Hello everyone!  I'm here with a new Project of the Week for The House That Stamps Built .  I'm calling it faux silk background, but it may have another name somewhere else.

This is what it looks like.

Here are the supplies you'll need:

A piece of white card stock cut a little smaller than your tissue paper piece.  Tissue paper, dye inks of your choice, glue.  You can use a glue stick, I used ATG double sided tape.

Begin by inking your stamp(s) with your choice of ink and stamp your tissue paper in the area or areas where you'd like your image or images to appear.

Once you have the tissue paper piece to your liking you now must do the hard part....wait for it to dry completely.  You can hit it with a heat gun if you can't wait, but it's very, very important that the ink is completely dry.

When the tissue is dry, roll it into a ball then unroll it carefully.  Cover your white card stock with glue completely, and gently lay your tissue piece over it carefully tapping it to the card stock piece to adhere.

Here's a close look at what it should look like

Trim the edges and use it on your card base as desired.

I hope you like this and give it a try, it makes a unique and lovely background.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a super creative week!
