JULY 2018 DESIGNER'S CHOICE CHALLENGE

Hello house friends!!!!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL MY FRIENDS IN THE USA!

Not sure if it's cool where you live, but here in Maine, the heat has been intense.  I'm not complaining though...our winters are long and cold.

It's Designer's Choice Challenge at The House That Stamps Built and today, Heather is challenging us to "the great outdoors" for a challenge theme.

Moose are in the great outdoors here in Maine, so I thought I'd use this Repeat Impressions Stamp #802-K "Moose Family Sil" the sentiment is RI#1145-F "Greetings from Maine".

After heat embossing the moose with white ep on a scrap piece of designer paper which I tore.  I then tore a scrap piece of green card stock to match and layer against the plaid piece.  Both pieces were adhered to a panel of wood design paper.  The sentiment was also heat embossed on a scrap piece of cs that I cut uneven end edges.  Mounting tape was added to the back, then a piece of twine attached.  I mounted it against the panel to look like a rustic windblown sign.

This is a fun challenge.  What's in your outdoors?  Come on over to THE HOUSE  and show us.

Here's what my rock star team mates are showing off their great outdoors.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Have a safe and happy Independence Day America!!!!

AS DEEP AS THE OCEAN AS HIGH AS THE SKY

Hi everyone!

I'm still playing around with some of the fabulous stamps that came from the July 2018 release and wanted to show you one that came together quite easily.

Don't forget....the new stamps can be purchased with a 15% discount but only until July 8th.  So get the new stamps you want and take advantage of the discount.  There's no code needed.  The discount is automatically assigned and will show up in your shopping cart.  If, however you see other stamps in the store you'd like, then get those stamps with a 10% discount by using my discount code of TJ10CHERI. (You will have to place that code in the coupon area at the checkout).

This card was created using "Jellyfish", and "Seagrass" from the new release and "Together" (for the sentiment), from the incredible individual setiments collections.  I created the background using an alcohol ink technique I saw Vicky Papaioannou do on her YouTube channel.

I didn't have any more Yupo paper, so I used mineral paper and it worked just as well.  I used Stazon black ink on the mineral paper.  The jellyfish were stamped on a separate card card stock panel, colored then fussy cut.

The sentiment was stamped on a blue cs panel and heat embossed with white ep then cut out in sections.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you grab yourself some of these fun new stamps while they're available at the 15% discount.  Don't forget my discount code is available for all other stamps you'd like to purchase.

JULY 2018 TECHNIQUE JUNKIES STAMPS NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP

Welcome to the July 2018 Technique Junkies Stamps new release blog hop!!!  I'm so happy you came by and I know you're going to find some fabulous inspiration throughout this hop.

All the stamps being released here today will be available at a big discount of 15% until July 8th.  No code necessary....they are automatically discounted in your shopping cart.  More discount goodies....you can get an additional 10% on all other stamps in the Technique Junkies Store by using my personal code of TJ10Cheri.  Just enter it in the little box at checkout and get some happy mail sent your way.

If you've hopped here from the incredibly talented Lee Ann's Blog , you're in the right order.  Didn't you love Lee Ann's creations?  If you missed the previous blogs, you can go back to THE BEGINNING and see all the fabulous talent showing of these awesome stamps.

Stamps used for this card - Floral Mermaid (designed by Rita Barakat), Seashell Borders Set of 2 and Sunflower Sentiments Set of 2 (from the June 2018 release - this is available at 10% off using my discount code TJ10Cheri).  After stamping and coloring the mermaid I made a mask for her.  The background was created by masking and sponging the area around the mermaid creating a light ray with Distress Oxide Inks.  After removing the light ray mask (keeping the mermaid mask in place) I then sponged more ink through a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called "Double Scales".  Copic Markers were used for coloring.

This card uses "Octopus Face" - I love this stamp.  It makes me laugh.  'Nough said!  Stamped, masked and sponged - done!

Using "Sailing Ship Collage" I wanted to try a fabulous technique called Gel Plate Impressionism by Lydia Fielder .  I didn't get the same results when I stamped the bg, so I just went as far as the bg creation and stamped the image with black dye ink directly onto the bg (not using the gel plate). I loved how it turned out.  I'll keep practicing, it's a fun technique.  To add a touch of dimension to the layer, I added some Glossy Accents to the compass and then a patina bead in the center.

Thanks for stopping by....now head on over to Stephanie's blog.  She's another incredibly talented card maker (I'm surrounded by them on this team) and you will love what she has to show you.

Don't forget to grab the JULY RELEASE STAMPS you'd like before July 8th for a 15% discount.  All other stamps (including Ken Oliver Color Bust Powders) can be purchased for a 10% discount by using my discount code.
