Crazy 4 Challenges C4C72

Hi blogger friends!

I just found another challenge that looks like fun.  Check out Crazy 4 Challenges Blog thanks to Vicki Dutcher, whose  blog I follow - Vicki is also a fellow CSSDT over at StampTV.

I was happy to play along with this week's challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges Blog is for a vintage or shabby chic card as these are some of my favorite cards.  I kept this one very simple although it has lots of room to CASE and add more "vintage" to it.

Details:  Card base is Gina K Pure Luxury CS Chocolate Brown and the pink layer is also GKD PL Soft Pink.  I stamped the Hero Art's French script background on GKD PL layering weight Ivory in with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain.  I stamped the beautiful lady from B Line Designs with Memento Rich Cocoa then layered her in the Chocolate Brown CS cut with a Marvy scalloped oval punch.  Her necklace was popped with Stickles.  The stack of letters stamp, also from B Line Design was also stamped with Memento Rich Coco ink and then cut and popped with pop dots.  The sentiment came from a stamp set designed by Melanie Munchinger entitled "Arranged with Love" for Gina K Design.  I used a Martha Steward doily punch to create the lace effect and all pieces were distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Inks "Antique Linen" and "Tattered Rose".

Thanks so much for stopping by, and you're invited to follow me, sign my guest book as well as leave a comment.

JUGS 69 Challenge

I hope you're having a great weekend and if you're a crafter, I hope you're enjoying some of the fantastic blogs and blog hops out there.  There's a hop over at StampTV showcasing a great sketch.  Fix yourself a beverage, kick back and enjoy this hop.

This weekend, I wanted to play along in some of the other challenges out there.   I can't always do that because my full time work schedule doesn't permit a lot of "play" time, yet, when I can, I do.  Many of my crafting friends are part of many of these challenges, either as participants or part of the design teams, and it's even more exciting to play along (and disappointing when you can't) when you're friends are part of the fun.

My dear friend Carla Suto has been this month's guest DT member over at JUGS and if you've never seen Carla's creations, you're in for a treat.  Visit Carla's blog and expect to be awestruck.  This is Carla's last week on the JUGS DT so I wanted to play along on this one.  Check out JUGS and play along too....it's all about flowers!

I created this card for the sketch challenge over at StampTV, but I think it works very well for the handmade flower challenge JUGS69 too.

Details:  The layering CS is GKD PL Vibrant Violet and the layering CS is GKD PL. DP is from my stash. I've fallen in love with Claudine Hellmuth's Studio Sticky-back canvas and stamped the new Tami Mayberry "Hopeful Hearts" stamp on it. I distressed the edges and created the rose out of scraps of GKD PL Bubble Gum Pink and Lovely Lavender. MS punches were used for edging

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I'm always happy to read your comments.

Valerie's Gift

What a pleasure it is to help two of my dear stamping friends, Mary Anne and Olga, surprise a friend of theirs, Colleen Dickinson, with a blog hop in celebration of a stamp {made by Whimsy Stamps} named for her daughter Valerie who was killed in a car accident 10 years ago.

Mary Anne and Olga's invitation to join this blog explained it this way:  "Colleen had entered a contest to name another stamp that was released at this same time.  She did not win but was then contacted [by Whimsy Stamps] and told they wanted to name the enclosed image 'Valerie's Gift'.  She was so honored".

Colleen, {{{HUGS}}} this is a precious stamp and I think I'm going to have to add it to my collection.

Details:  Base layer is Gina K Pure Luxury White CS.  The layering CS is from my stash.  DP is Basic Grey "Sugar Rush".  The image is colored with Copic Markers.  Sentiment from Papertrey Inc.

Thanks for hopping by now please hop over to the very talented Geri's blog and see her project.

A Maine Card

Here's a card I made for my Secret Sister over at StampTV, Joy Hadden.  Joy and I had become friends via the Internet and StampTV before I learned that she and her husband came to Maine 2x each year.  And to make it more interesting I learned that Joy was on the design team at Repeat Impressions, a fantastic Maine stamp company.  So, when the time came to reveal ourselves, I made this card for Joy using (of course) stamps from Repeat Impressions.

The sentiment said, "Greetings from Maine" and it's also a Repeat Impression stamp.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a GREAT week.
