STAMPTV CSS DT APRIL SKETCH CHALLENGE

Welcome to another StampTV CSS DT blog hop.  Once again we're showcasing a fabulous sketch from our own Melissa Cash.

If you've come here from the super talented Geri's blog, then you're in the right place.  If not, you may want to go back to the beginning of the hop, just so you don't miss one fantastic inspirational stop.

As you hop, don't forget to leave a message on each blog because you might just win a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Designs stamps!  On Tuesday morning (April 24), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs and that person will receive a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Designs Stamps!

Here's Melissa's sketch

I made two different cards using this sketch and used the same StampTV Kit Stamp "Petals and Wings".

For those of you who follow my blog and my cards know that I'm a big technique fan and in this card I'm using a technique I found in the April/May issue of Technique Junkies Newsletter called "Copic Colored Embossing".  It looks like delicate embroidery to me and so I paired it with the MS eyelet punch after embossing the panel wth a CB swiss dots EF.  I used GKD Pure Luxury "In the Navy"  for the base layer and the Copic embossing layer "Little Boy Blue" PL CS was used for the base layer.

This card was made using the great papers and ribbons included with the "Petals and Wings" StampTV Kit.   I received this set yesterday and couldn't wait to ink it up.

Thanks for stopping by and now hop over to Geri's ubar talented daughter, Brenda's blog and see her fabulous creation using Melissa's sketch.

What If? Wednesday at Repeat Impressions

Woohoo!  It's another hump day and day to celebrate a "What If? Wednesday" sketch with us at The House That Stamps Built    -  and just look at the funtabulous sketch Wendy has come up with this week!!!

Here's my interpretation of Wendy's sketch and some detail of the technique I used.

For my card I used Repeat Impression images #7120-L and #3935-F for the sentiement which I cut up and glued within the image.

I decided to flip Wendy's sketch in order to use this cute frog stamp.....don't you just giggle when you see this stamp?  I sure do and here in the Northeast it's peeper time - tiny frogs that sing away all night long, boasting they are the best mate in the pond hoping to win the lovliest amphibian heart from among them and calling out "It's spring, let's party"  It's a delightful sound (to me) and this image made me think of them.

If you click on the card image and enlarge it, you'll see the micro-fine glitter technique I used called "Colored Microfine" from the April/May 2012 issue of Technique Junkies Newsletter.   I  couldn't seem to get a clearer photo of the micro-fine glitter - it makes the image look a little "blurry", yet the card in real life looks fabulous!
Gina K Pure Luxury "Ocean Mist cs was used for the base, as well as  "Sweet Mango" for the edging.  Echo Park "Splash" dp was used for the layering.    The buttons and white flowers are also from Gina K Design

Come on over to The House That Stamps Built get the details and then join us in the sketch challenge.  You might just win some fabulous Repeat Impression stamps!!!!

Thank you for stopping by and for those who leave comments - HUGS!

Happy spring, blog friends!!!
I'm so excited to see the flowers coming up and hear the birds singing and feel the warm sunshine.  For my friends on the other side of the hemisphere.....thanks for sending spring and summer back to us and I hope you enjoy your fall and winter.

Well, it's time for another fabulous stamp of the week from Repeat Impressions (The House That Stamps Built).  This week Wendy's offering this really fun silhoutte stamp or "positive" stamp titled Pinwheel Positive #6009-M and you can find it toward the bottom of this page

This stamp has so many possibilities for creativity.  This week only, Wendy is offering this stamp at 50% off it's retail price.  You can find the details at Repeat Impressions blog The House That Stamps Built, so why don't you head on over and check it out.

This was a simple and easy card to make but love the "pop" it gives for celebrating any event in someone's life.  It was also a great way to use up some scraps.

Please visit my Rock Star friends and design team memembers and see what fun creations they've made using this stamp.

Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting - I hope you have a wonderful week!
