ANYTHING GOES CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT -SEPTEMBER 2017

Hi there, house friends!!!!

So hard to believe we're at the end of another month of challenges for The House That Stamps Built....or, for that matter, at the end of another month!!!!   Time really does fly by, doesn't it?

I hope you've been playing along this month with us and our challenges.  You can still get in on all of them in order to get an opportunity to be the lucky one drawn to win a $25 gift certificate for some fabulous Repeat Impression stamps.

I used RI Stamps #2224-L "Cactus"  and RI#4009-G "In All Things" for this card.  The bg was created by sponging Distress Oxide Inks onto a white cs base and then sprinkling water over it to activate the inks.  I then splattered the bg with some watered down white acrylic paint.

The "hills" were created with a die and, after stamping the cactus image twice, first on the panel where I wanted the image to appear and secondly on a separate piece of cs.  I fussy cut that one out and colored it black with Copic Markers.  I then placed it over the stamped area on the card panel with liquid glue.  You can't see it in this photo very well, but I used a Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to accent the cactus.

I hope you found some inspiration here today and I hope you'll join our challenge today and for the entire month.  The more you enter the better chance you have of winning.  Check out THE HOUSE for all the details.

Take a look at the blogs of these talented ladies for tons of inspiration for this challenge.

AUTUMN THE YEAR'S LAST SMILE

Hello Junkies!

Fall is upon us here in Maine.  It's a beautiful time of the year.  Technique Junkies has some gorgeous Autumn/fall stamps and I chose Leaf Twig  as the focal image to create this card.

I used Chameleon Colortone Pencils to color the leaves (I love those pencils) after stamping them on a separate ivory cs panel.  (I used Distress Oxide Inks to give it a background color).  The image was with a round stitched frame die from MFT.

I wanted to have the center stand out, so applied gel matte medium to the center portion and heat set it...it bubbled and I nearly threw it away.  However, I continued to heat set it and as more bubbles appeared, I kinda liked the sugary texture it was creating, so I kept it.

Finally, I added the sentiment from one of the new September 2017 Release stamps, "Autumn Set of 6".  The background panel was created with the "Pulled Color Technique" from the August/September 2012 Technique Junkies Newsletter.

I hope you found some inspiration here and if you'd like a little more enabling, and would like to purchase Technique Junkies stamps (excluding those from the September release), please use my coupon code at check out and save yourself 10%.

Save the date and don't miss our October Release coming October 1st!  Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty week!
