StampTV CSS DT Inspiration Blog Hop

Welcome!  It's time for another StampTV Center Stage Spotlight Design Team blog hop and I'm so happy you're hopping along with us for this INSPIRATION hop.
If you've come here from the fabulous Carolina's blog you're in the right place.  If not, we invite you to go back at the beginning of the hop - you wouldn't want to miss one gorgeous project the team has created.

Our inspiration came from The Better Bit of Butter Cookie site and when I first saw this photo I was struck  by how gorgeously yummy these cookies looked!  How bright and beautiful!  Then my head began to spin with all the decisions and choices for creativity from this inspiration.  Yikes!!!!

I finally settled and took my inspiration from Premier 3 - I would have done several if I had more time....this is such a great inspiration piece.

Details:    Gina K Pure Luxury CS White and Lemon Drop.  The embossed layer is done using a Sizzix EF

Card Class

What fun it has been to teach a beginning card class for our school district's adult education program this year.  The great people who have taken the class are such fantastic sports.....I've given them some pretty "beyond beginner" techniques to do....yet the only consistent "challenge" we have is tying ribbons - who can't relate to that???

Last night we created Easter Cards and they were given at Mother's Day card "kit" to create later at home. I'll post that card at a later date.  Here are the cards we made at the class last night.

Shaving cream technique was used to create this background.  The fantastic stamp set "Easter Blessings" is designed for Gina K Design by Rupa Shevde and really works well with this technique.

You can't have Easter without some cute bunnies hopping by.  The stamp set "Basket Blessings", designed by Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K Design We used some Bo Bunny Violet Dot Back To Basics paper and layered it against a soft violet Bazzell card stock.  The bunnies were colored with chalks.  The "grass" and the "cloud" were created using sponge daubers and Distress Inks "Bundled Sage" and "Milled Lavender".

Thank you for stopping here.
StampTV blog Hop Tomorrow night!!
Lots of inspiration and you could possibly win a FREE Gina K Stamp stamp set, so don't forget to hop this weekend with StampTV.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Bird of Beauty and Hope

I had to show you!

What fabulous paper this new Chanteuse Collection is from KaiserCraft....I am so loving it.  I had to use the new Gina K Designs Stamp TV Kit, "Springtime Silhouettes" to enhance this paper.  There's just the subtle touch of the dress form to the left of the bird, then the sentiment "Hope".  The flowers were punched and then "spotted" with Copic markers and I used some real feathers to give his/her tail a shake.  CS Gina K Designs Pure Luxury "Bubble Gum Pink" for the base layer and punched spotted flower.  Creme de Menthe and Fresh Asparagus were used for the evergreen leaves.

I just loved this bird and wanted to make it a focal image for my card and someone very special will receive it.

Spread Your Wings and Fly

There's a color challenge going on this week over at StampTV this week and the colors are wonderful.  Gina K released a new Pure Luxury Card Stock in March called "Wild Lilac" and it is gorgeous.  The color challenge this week uses it.  Here's the color challenge chart....play along at StampTV, you may just win a new stamp set.

Here's a card I made using these colors.

This developed into an Asian flavor card, but it didn't start out that way.  Once I was done stamping the images, I thought it still needed a little more depth and background, so I added the CB EF Floral Screen.  Stickles were added to highlight those gorgeous Siberian Iris and the little bird in the cage.

Card ingredients:  Gina K Designs Pure Luxury CS Wild Lilac, Creme de menthe and Black Onyx.  The DP is from the fabulous Basic Grey "Wisteria Paper Pad".  Stamps are from the new "Springtime Silhouettes" StampTV Kit for March.  Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black.

Thanks so much for stopping by - hope you're all having a great day!

Speedy The Cat's Challenge #49

A new challenge over at Speedy the Cat's Friends place....I had to play.
Here are the rules: This week Geri has challenged us to spotlight any animal on your card.
If you use a stamp from Mark's Finest Papers you'll be entered in the challenge twice for a better chance of winning the prize.

I love this "Big Cats" set that I got about a month (or so) ago from Mark's Finest Papers and I especially love the lion face, so I just had to use him here.

"In the jungle, the mighty jungle the lion sleeps tonight..." I know, I've got you singing now, don't I?  Me too!  Yikes!

I debated coloring the spotlight face of the lion, but I decided I'd let the stamp stand alone in both cases, the background and the spotlight.  I was hoping to create a "no frills" card for a "no frills" kinda guy.  (But then there's that lacy doily thingy haloing his head)

Details:  I used Gina K Pure Luxury CS Ivory and Black Onyx for this card.
DP is Basic Grey "Granola".
Stamp Set:  Speedy Cat's Friends "Big Cats".
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Rich Coca
Misc:  Spellbinders Shapeabilities Pendants "Eyelets"
Fiber ribbon:  Gina K Designs

Check out all the exciting things happening over at Speedy's the Cat Friend's place the blog of.....aka Mark's Finest Papers.

Thanks for stopping by.

A StampTV Sketch Challenge

Thanks so much for your concerned notes here on my blog about the snowy weather we've had.  You Southern ladies are making me so envious!  How I wish I could see daffodils and tulips right now.  I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this was probably the last snow of this winterspring.  Can you see my fingers and toes crossed as I say that?

{My mantra since last Thursday} - If Mother Nature doesn't give you spring.....buy some gorgeous paper and create it!
I didn't need this gorgeous paper at all....but I was at my LSS store on Thursday and feeling a mite sorry for myself that the big snow storm was headed our way and Ruth Ann(she owns the store) had just gotten this new shipment in and I couldn't help myself....I bought it.  It's Kaisercraft "Chanteuse Collection" and if ever there was a "pick-me-up" paper, this would be it!  I decided to use it to make a card for the sketch challenge over at StampTV this week (and I'm just under the wire), but here is the sketch and my card and I know I'll find oodles of reasons to play with my new paper again soon.  (I purchased several sheets...and it made me feel sooo much better).

Card ingredients:  Gina K Designs Pure Luxury CS in White, Fresh Asparagus, and Bubble Gum Pink.  Butterfly stamp and sentiment are from the new "Springtime Silhouettes" StampTV Stamp Kit.  Spellbinders "Lotus" Pendent die, Stickles, Distress Inks, Copic Markers, wrinkled seambinding and embellishment.

Have a great week everyone and thanks so much for your little notes.  I love knowing there's spring out there.....somewhere!  *sigh*
