ANYTHING GOES APRIL 2017 AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello!

We have a new challenge for you at The House That Stamps Built and it's the monthly favorite of "Anything Goes".  We hope you'll join us.

I've been challenging myself to make some guy cards lately.  Especially cards that aren't specific to a birthday or other event, but rather just general cards for guys. This is one of those cards.

I used stamps from the "Bottoms Up" set, and I used masking to create the scene. The images were colored with Copic Markers and after coloring, I masked them again and sponged the background in with my new Distress Oxide Inks (which I am LOVING).  I then drew in a "table" (the extent of my drawing ability), added the sentiment and adhered the layers to the card base.

Prepare to be amazed by the incredible inspiration these ladies have also created for you.

KITTY KEEPING AN EYE ON YOU

Hey there, Junnkies,

A quick post today to show you this fun card using Technique Junkies Stamps "Kitty Watching" and "Watcha Doin".   I created it a few days ago and sent it to my friend who is in the hospital recovering from surgery.  She has a great sense of humor and I knew this card would give her a giggle or two.  It did me!

I created a window and frame with Stitched Arch Stax dies from My Favorite Things to place the kitty face in after coloring it with Copic Markers.  Before placing the image inside the window, I splattered the front panel with black and green watered down acrylic paints for accent.

Such an easy and fun card to create.

If you'd like to grab these stamps, or any other stamps from Technique Junkies for yourself and would enjoy a little discount, use my code TJ10Cheri for a full 10% off your entire order.  Just enter the code at check out.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you get some crafting time for yourself today!

PROJECT OF THE WEEK - FAUX SILK BACKGROUND TECHNIQUE

Hello everyone!  I'm here with a new Project of the Week for The House That Stamps Built .  I'm calling it faux silk background, but it may have another name somewhere else.

This is what it looks like.

Here are the supplies you'll need:

A piece of white card stock cut a little smaller than your tissue paper piece.  Tissue paper, dye inks of your choice, glue.  You can use a glue stick, I used ATG double sided tape.

Begin by inking your stamp(s) with your choice of ink and stamp your tissue paper in the area or areas where you'd like your image or images to appear.

Once you have the tissue paper piece to your liking you now must do the hard part....wait for it to dry completely.  You can hit it with a heat gun if you can't wait, but it's very, very important that the ink is completely dry.

When the tissue is dry, roll it into a ball then unroll it carefully.  Cover your white card stock with glue completely, and gently lay your tissue piece over it carefully tapping it to the card stock piece to adhere.

Here's a close look at what it should look like

Trim the edges and use it on your card base as desired.

I hope you like this and give it a try, it makes a unique and lovely background.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a super creative week!
