I hope you all had a blessed Easter and shared some time with family and friends.
It's Wednesday, once again, and time for another challenge at The House That Stamps Built. Today, it's a Designer's Choice Challenge and the designer challenging us is the incredibly talented Kathy Stacy. If you haven't seen her creative projects, do yourself a favor and check out her blog. You won't be disappointed, I promise.
So, Kathy's challenge for us this week is "heat embossing". Easy and fun!
Here is my card for a little inspiration and to get your going.
For this card I used Repeat Impressions Stamp #1704-P "Great Blue Heron". This is a beautifully detailed stamp and large enough to fit beautifully on the front of an A2 card front.
I first stamped the image on black cs with Versamark ink then added white embossing powder. I then centered the embossed image within a Spellbinder die and cut it out. I had a scrap piece of white cs and backed it but thought it needed some additional color so I used the same die cut and cut out four more using different colors and embedded random pieces inside negative areas around the image. I drew the "horizon" line with my white gel pen and added "stars" with it too. I then mounted it to a black card base and voila! Card done!
I hope you'll join the challenge at The House! You can get the detail by clicking on the link and once entered, you might win some of these awesome RI stamps!
You're going to love the inspiration by the other Rock Stars. Take a look!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
