NEW INSPIRATION CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Happy hump day, blog friends!

Have you been following the new format of challenges over at The House That Stamps Built?  Each and every Wednesday there's a new and different challenge, lots of inspiration for your creative self to use.

This week we have an inspiration image challenge for you to play with

Isn't this a lovely photo?  I  just fell in love with it and here's what I created using this inspiration photo.

I was inspired by the textures and the pops of red as well as the "feeling" of being alone in a beautiful wintery wooded area.

Stamps used:  RI#207-G "Cardinal".  I didn't feel the card needed a sentiment on the front, I thought I could add one to the inside later.  To create the background for that fabulous cardinal, I first inked up Sizzix embossing folder (I think it's one from a Tim Holtz collection) with Iced Spruce Distress Ink and embossed it onto a white cs panel.  I waited a bit for the ink to dry and then embossed it again with a "snow" embossing folder.  This step will flatten the tree image a bit).  I die cut the tree branch using a Memory Box die called "Grove Branch" in a scrap piece of dark brown cs and then added Stickles "frosted lace" and some "red berries" using my Red, Viva Pearl Pen.  Once the branch was dry, I mounted it on the card base using dimensionals and placed the cardinal on the branch with dimensionals as well.  (the cardinal was colored with Copic Markers).

I hope you'll come over to The House and play along with this challenge.  You could win an awesome prize if your entry is selcted.
