I hope you've all had a fabulously creative week!! Are you looking for a new challenge that really stretches your creative juices? If so, check out the new challenge at Outlawz CAS challenge this week. Linda Anderson is the hostess and here is her challenge:
Being the rebel that I am, my challenge this week is two part. First, create a holiday card, any holiday will do. Second, make it in non-traditional colors. As always, it must be CAS, but let's see a Valentine with no red or St. Patrick's without green. And now you're talking if you go with Christmas NOT in red and green! Have fun and let's get creative.
This one really got me. I had been making Christmas cards for nearly 2 months or more and had put all my Christmas stamps away and was ready to move on to spring, when Linda's challenge came. I forced myself not to get the Christmas stamps out again but rather try something different. I went to my best source of inspiration, "Pinterest" (how did we ever live without Pinterest?) and in the process of
The "egg" was created using an Irish Folding aperture I had. I simply traced it onto my card stock. I used the masking technique to build the floral background with stamps and a variety of inks and Copic Markers to color the flowers. Once the egg was colored and completely dry, I "painted" it with a clear Wink of Stella pen. I then inked the whole thing in VersaMark Ink and sprinkled clear embossing powder over it and heat embossed it. I loved the results. You may not be able to see it here, but there's a subtle sparkle behind a gorgeous gloss which the embossing powder created. I then mounted a black die cut panel behind it and popped it up with dimensionals. The stamps I used are Hennah Elements by Alte&New and the sentiment is from a retired GKD set by Rupa Shevde "Easter Blessings".
I hope to see you at the CAS challenge this week, there's a chance to win a $10.00 gift certificate to a craft store of your choice.
Have a creative week and thanks so much for stopping by.
