JUNE 2018 DESIGNER'S CHOICE CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hi house friends!!! 

Today is another challenge at The House That Stamps Built, and this week it's a designer's choice challenge and it's Esther's turn to challenge us.  Her challenge is "Summer Vacation".  

How about a beach vacation and building sandcastles in the sand?  My card uses RI# 9016-M "Sandcastle" and RI#9003-E "Happy Summer" and RI#5105-I "Cloud Sil (lg).

I did a little no line coloring with Copic Markers on this card, highlighting with my white gel pen and sponging Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink along the edges.  The cloud was stamped with Faded Jeans Distress Oxide Ink.

I needed a guy graduation card and love how this came out.  I used "Map Collage" and stamped with a brown waterproof ink, die cut the image, sponged around the outside edges and added crackle paint.  When it was dry, I mounted it on kraft card stock and added a sentiment from "Wisdom of Oz" (save 10% off this stamp by using my discount code) from the March 2018 release.  

I thought this would make another great graduation card.  Using two stamps from this release "Flamingos Background" and "Balance on One Leg".  The bg stamp was created using a  3-D background technique I showed before HERE.  

My final card for the hop uses this awesome sunflower stamp "Sunflower Duo" and I paired it with a sentiment from the new set "Sunflower Sentiments".  I colored the sunflower with my Chameleon Colortone pencils.  In the background I used "Classic Harlequin Stencil" , which I sponged with ink.  Love how it turned out.  

For all my cards, I used my MISTI.  I couldn't stamp without it!!!!

MAY 2018 SKETCH CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello HOUSE friends,

Here we are at the end of May!!! How did THAT happen?????  

This is the 5th Wednesday of a month and therefore, Wendy challenges us with a sketch.  Sketch challenges at The House That Stamps Built only happen in months where there is a 5th Wednesday....so if you like sketch challenges, join in and play along.  

My card uses RI Stamps #505-L "Mixed Fruit" and #9313-D "Sweet".  

I'm not good with sketches....I don't know what there is about them, but I freeze at the sight of them.  I think it's the restriction of the sketch that gets me.  Anyway...because it's a "challenge" to me, I jump in and enjoy the process.  I love the Mixed Fruit stamp, it's such a great stamp to color.  

This design came completley on it's own once I decided the stamp I wanted to use.  So, I guess that's the answer to my freeze of sketch challenges....I need to let the stamps speak on their own.  This made me think of a menu on top of place mats at a cafe table.  Quaint is the word that comes to mind.  LOL.

MAY 2018 ANYTHING GOES CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello house friends....it's Wednesday!  Are you up for another awesome challenge from The House That Stamps Built????  

It's an Anything Goes challenge and that means....you can create what you want to create.  Yippppeeeee!!!  

I used RI Stamps #4401-O "Dragonfly (lg), #4314-K "Flowering Vine" and #2512-E "Just To Say".  

I stamped the dragonfly and border flowers in VersaMark and then heat embossed it with white ep. I sponged Distress Inks around them and added shadows with Inktense pencils.  The sentiment was stamped on black card stock with Versamark and heat embossed again with white ep.
