MAY 2018 DESIGNER'S CHOICE CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello and welcome, house friends!

We begin each month with a designer's choice challenge.  One of us, gets to challenge you and this month it's Donna's turn to challenge us and her challenge is to make a one layer card.  Easy, right?  Not for me!  I always need a layer or two of something, something.  So here goes....my card for Donna's DCC.

I had to keep it simple....otherwise I would get lost in the details of layers....oh, Donna, how you've challenged me!  I spent some time on Pinterest and found a couple of ideas and they all inspired this card.

I needed some thank you cards and so I started there.  I wanted something simple yet would make a statement that would fit the challenge.  While going through my RI Stamps I decided on this one RI#9706-U "Flowers" from the "Contain Yourself set.  Stamped in VersaFine black ink onto kraft cs, I colored it all in white pencil and accented with a yellow PrismaColor pencil for the center of the daisy.  The sentiment is RI#8607-D "Thanks".

My team mates have some incredibly gorgeous DCC projects to show you.  Here are links to each of their blogs.  I hope you'll pay them a visit.

If you came from the incredibly creative and talented Lee Ann Barrett's blog , I know you were blown away by her creations. If you didn't and would like to see the blog hop from the very beginning, here's the link to the Technique Junkies Blog.

One of my most favorite stamp from this release is "Side Hat".  I stamped her in red dye ink and she pairs perfectly with "Audacity", don't you think?  There is also a matching stencil from "A Colorful Life" Stencils.  How cool is that?

What a fun stamp "Screaming Calories" is.  This is one of those stamps that should be in everyone's collection.  A card made with this stamp will lighten and brighten anyone's day. I did some masking and sponging to achieve the "spotlight" effect.  The piggy was colored with Copic Markers.

"City Watercolor" is a fabulous stamp.  Incredibly versatile and fun to play with.  I used Ken Oliver Color Burst pigment powders from the "earthtone" collection to create my background.  I also subtly inked, in black dye ink, the fabulous "Cloud Lattice" stencil from "A Colorful Life" in the background.  The "stars" were added with the gold Glitter Marker from Nuvo from the "Ember Glo" collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you found some inspiration here.

Your next stop on the hop is the blog of another incredibly talented member of the design team, Stephanie Severin.  Her creations will blow you away!

Don't forget the 15% discount on the new stamps and use my 10% discount on all other purchase of stamps you'd like.

APRIL 2018 ANYTHING GOES CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello, house friends!

It's the last Wednesday of the month (I'm sure you didn't need me to remind you of that), and that brings around the favorite Anything Goes challenge at The House That Stamps Built.

Anything goes means that you can submit whatever card or project creation you'd like to, and be entered in the month's challenges for a chance to win $25.00 worth of fabulous Repeat Impressions Stamps.

I love springtime, it's my favorite season...I love the sounds of the birds, and the sleeping flowers waking up after such a long, long winter and finally blooming.  The RI stamp I used on my card is #1702-N "Bird Song".  Isn't it adorable?
I stippled (with a small paint brush) Distress Oxide Ink "Peacock Feathers" over the bg after stamping and coloring the image with Chameleon ColorTone Pencils and cutting an oval shape out of scrap paper.  I placed it over the image and stippled the ink.  The embossing folder is a basket weave from the We R Memory Keepers next level embossing folders.  The sentiment is RI#1112-E "Just a Note".

My team mates have some incredibly gorgeous ATG projects to show you.  Here are links to each of their blogs.  I hope you'll pay them a vist them.

LITTLE BIRD LOVE

Hello TJ people,

Gotta say I am having so much fun with the stamp set "Faith, Hope, Love" from the February 2018 release.  It not only comes as a single set, it also comes bundled with a background stamp too.  Get them all with a 10% full discount by using my discount code at check out TJ10Cheri.

I started out by sponging a soft background using Distress Oxide Ink on the panel where I would stamp the images.  I used a MISTI and a piece of acrylic packaging to line up the rose branch with the branch the bird sits on.  The images were colored with my Chameleon ColorTone Pencils.  I added a few punched hearts from red card stock and then used Glossy Accents to give them dimension.  Finally, I added some light plattering with watered down Black Soot Distress Ink on an old tooth brush.

There's so much creativity going on using Technique Junkies Stamps as well as our FaceBook Page.  There's also a Technique Junkies YouTube Channel, hosted by our creator, Pat Huntoon where she demonstrates lots of techniques for card makers.  Check them all out.

We also have a monthly challenge. (This month it's a technique challenge)  In order to win this challenge you must use Technique Junkies Stamps in your creation.  You say you don't have any TJ stamps?  Well....don't forget...I have my 10% discount code which will let you get a full 10% off every and/or any stamps you want in the store.

I hope you can grab yourself some crafting time today...and one week from today we're busting out the MAY 2018 RELEASE!  You are going to be knocked sideways when you see these new stamps!!!

APRIL 2018 INSPIRATION CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello house friends!

It's inspiration challenge time at The House That Stamps Built.   I think you're going to love this, it's bold, it's bright and screams happiness.

To create my card, I used the beautiful stamp RI#1320-M "Spring Blossoms".  The flowers were colored with Copic markers and die cut in an oval stictched frame.  The sentiment is RI#3910-G "Miracle of Spring".  I layered the ovals agains a deep purple layer where I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

Here is the inspiration board.  Please join us in the challenge and
let's see what you can create and how this inspires you.

The details on how to get in the challenge and what you could win can be found at THE HOUSE.

Here are the blogs of my incredible team mates.  They will blow you away with their interpretations of this inspiration.
