Happy Memorial Day Weekend, America! Monday is the day we set aside to remember those who have served and who are currently serving in our armed forces and each year at this time Operation Write Home has a blog hop - a BIG one.
You can start the hop any where and you have the entire weekend to visit all the blogs in the hop. Some are offering giveaways so pay attention and have some fun hopping.
I'm offering a prize to one lucky hopper. You only have to leave a comment, and include your email so I can notify you if you win. I will randomly pick a winner on Tuesday, May 27. Good luck!!!
This is a brand spanking new Hero Arts set made specifically for Operation Write Home.
The instructions for this hop are to create a card using the colors red, white and blue in one of these themes; Love you, Missing you, Thank you, Birthday and any hero cards. OWH also provides some awesome sketches for inspiration. The instructions and sketches are found HERE.
I created two cards for this hop I'll note which sketch I used for each one.
Sketch #114 (I flipped it a bit).
Sketch #154
Enjoy the hop and thanks so much for stopping by!
5/27/2014 Woohooo....we have a winner!!! Congratulations, Lyn Kaufmann! Your stamp set is on it's way. Thank you all for commenting on my blog...I wish I had a gift for each of you. What a fabulous blog hop once again. God bless our service men and women and we thank you so much for all you do for us.
Hello blog friends!
Over at The House That Stamps Built there's a new designer's choice challenge and you're going to have some fun with this one....guaranteed!
Rock Star, Deonna has challenges us to create a "monochromatic card", which means sticking with one color, tone, hue of color. Super fun and creative way to use up scraps, try new layouts, play with colors you may not like or have picked for a card before or just create with your favorite color....join Deonna and the RI Rock Stars.
You can head on over to THE HOUSE and get all the instructions and details and see all the great cards from the RI Rock Stars.
Here's the card I created for Deonna's challenge. It was made with one of my favorite RI stamps #1401-B "Portland Head Light". I used the Triple Stamping Technique to create this card.
This technique is not easy, but it creates such a unique effect on a card. Give it a try! It's all about fun.
Check out my Rock Star Teamies for some incredible inspiration for Deonna's challenge.

Hello blog friends!!!
It's Wednesday again and I'm here with a new What If? Wednesday sketch challenge from Wendy at The House That Stamps Built and Repeat Impressions Stamps. I love these sketches from Wendy....they are often so challenging and fun to work with.
Here is this week's sketch challenge
You will have some great fun with this sketch....lots of room for papers and/or techniques. Get your crafty hats on and go for it. The details for entering in the challenge and how you can win some awesome RI stamps is at THE HOUSE.
I used a new stamp from the new stamp set "Wine Time" for my card.
I am so loving this new RI stamp set.
I used image #9507-P "Wine for Two" and the sentiment #9510-E "Wine Down". The images were colored with Copic Markers.
Take a second and visit my Rock Star teamies for more inspiration with this sketch and I hope we see you in the challenge.

Have a great week!
Hi blog friends,
This is a very quick post. It's Mother's Day and I made this card for my mother who is in a nursing home with Alzheimer's Disease. She's a courageous fighter and has won many associated physical battles with this disease. It's debilitating and humiliating yet she sets the bar mighty high with her dignity and her embedded faith as she manages every day. Never complaining and always grateful. She is my hero.
There's a challenge in making a card for a person with Alzheimer's. There can be nothing they can tear off and swallow or fiddle with, so I don't put any embellishments or layers on her cards. I love making cards for her and she seems to enjoy getting them. My image is from GKD "Friendship's Garden" which I think is discontinued. I colored it with pencils (something I haven't done for awhile).
Happy Mother's Day to all of you! Thanks so much for stopping by.
I'm entering this card in OWH Mid-week Challenge "May Flowers". And while I'm talking about OWH...get in on the blog hop for Memorial Day weekend....the link is at the top right of my side bar. Check it out.
So much for a short post!!!! :)
Hi blog friends!!!
I hope you all had a chance to hop along with the Repeat Impressions Rock Star DT and check out the newest stamp set "Wine Time" by Wendy Wyman. If not, you can start the hop HERE.
Today it's my turn to challenge you all in a Designer's Choice Challenge. I called my challenge "Bird Watching". There are so many awesome RI wildlife stamps, but some of my favorites are the birds that Wendy draws. Here's a link so you can see for yourself! There are many other's scattered throughout the categories of stamps and I encourage your take some wine time and travel through all of the stamps at Repeat Impressions and The House That Stamps Built.
Here's my "Bird Watching" card.
I used bird image #4318-K "Stork" the sentiment is #4116-F. So take a look around the RI Stamps and enjoy.
How about joining in on my challenge? Create a card using a bird image and enter it over at The House. All the details are there. You don't have to use an RI stamp to enter, but if you do, you'll be entered in the drawing twice! You might just win a $25.00 certificate for some of these awesome RI stamps.
Have fun and enjoy your week!! Thanks so much for stopping by.
