STAMP OF THE WEEK AT REPEAT IMPRESSIONS

Hi blog friends,

Another Monday is here and again it's Stamp of the Week at Repeat Impressions and The House That Stamps Built.  Every Monday, Wendy offers one of her fabulous stamps at 50% off the retail price.  This week's stamp is #3004-M Bodie Island Light

This is just one of the many fantastic lighthouse stamps that Repeat Impressions offers.  If you love lighthouses (and I do), this stamp will be a great one for your stamp collection.  AND it's 50% off this week.

Here is a card I created with this stamp

To created the bg for this card, I sponged Memento inks, Sky Blue, Bahama Blue and Pear Tart, leaving a tiny band of white.  I got this idea from the March/April/May 2013 issue of "Take Ten" magazine and the fabulous Inked Skies cards from Paula Whittaker of Norfolk, UK.  (My deepest apologies to Paula for my poor attempt at her technique....but I will be working on this...it's stunning).  In addition to the featured stamp of the week, for this card I also used RI stamps, #2722-I Cattails and #1113-D Happy Birthday.

Thank you for stopping by, now I hope you'll stop by my Stamp of the Week Teamies and check out their fabulous cards using this stamp.

Have a great week, everyone!

Hi blog friends!!!

This week it's my turn to offer a challenge for my Rock Star teamies (and you) at The House That Stamps Built

Here's my card

I think this "Cat Features" stamp (#4204-H) is one of the cutest stamps and I just can't stop playing with it.  The face makes me smile and I can think of so many ways to create with it.

I hope you'll check out the other Rock Stars creations and join us in this DCC at The House That Stamps Built

I'm also entering this in Belli Challenge #164 - Black/White/Red

STAMPTV CSS MY FAVORITE THINGS BLOG HOP

Welcome to the February StampTV CSS Favorite Things Blog Hop!!!

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

The challenge for this hop is to make a card showcasing one of your favorite things. Whether it's birthdays, flowers, coffee...the choices are endless....there is a twist.....only GKD Stamps released from August 2012 - January 2013 can be used.
If you've come here from the fabulously talented Brenda's blog, then you're in the right place.  If not, you won't want to miss anything and should go to the BEGINNING and enjoy each and every fabulously creative member of this group.

One of my most favorite things is walking/snowshoeing/skiing in the snowy woods and breathing in the cool air and pine trees.  Fortunately, for me, Melanie's newest Stately Flowers 6 stamp set included Maine as one of the featured stamps.  Maine is known as "The Pine Tree State" so my choice of stamp sets was easy.

I made two cards using Melanie's newest Stately Flowers 6 stamp set and as you can see, I wanted to let that pine branch have all the attention.

After stamping the image several times on some GKD Kraft card stock,I colored them with my seldom used Distress Markers and then highlighted the images with my white pen.  I split the image and layered it in order to give it a "window" look.  The "snow" was made with Viva Pearl Pen, "Ice White".

For this card I stamped the image twice then colored one with Copic Markers, then fussy cute it and layered it over the other image.  I trimmed the panel and sponged around the edges and popped it up with pop dots on some dp.  I then used some "frosted lace" Stickles to give the image an icy look.  Then, for a little interest, I cut a tiny piece of GKD kraft cs and glued it on the one corner.

Thank you for stopping by - now please head on over to the super talented Geri's blog....she always has something spectacular for us.

CAS Challenge at Outlawz

Hi blog friends...

You're invited to join the CAS challenge at Outlawz this week (and EVERY week).  It's my turn to make the challenge and since this is the week of the full moon, it's a full moon challenge.  I hope you'll be able to come over and play along, there are some GREAT prizes to win!

Here's my card:

I used a Repeat Impression stamp #802-K.  I masked the moon using a positive from a spellbinder classic circle die cut and sponged with Memento inks, "Lulu Lavendar", "Grape Jelly" and "Paris Dusk".  After removing the mask, I stamped the moose family with VersaFine black ink, I find this is the best ink for silhouette stamps.  Then, after inking and stamping the image I put it through a snow ef from Sizzix and lightly sanded the embossing over the moose to "white" the snow.  The "happy birthday"  stamp is from my stash and I'm sorry, I don't know the manufacturer.

So happy you stopped by and I hope you'll check out the CAS challenge at Outlawz

WHAT IF? WEDNESDAY TIME

Hello blog friends,

Here we are for another fun What If? Wednesday for The House That Stamps Built and Repeat Impressions Stamps!  I love these sketch challenges.  I'm not always good at them....for sure.....but I get to stretch my creativity a tad and open that box I'm often in.  (some of you know what I mean).

Here's Wendy's sketch for this week's WIW challenge

My card using this challenge

I did a little flip of the sketch in order to make a birthday card with this adorable train stamp for my grandson who will be 6 (when did that happen?) in April!  The RI stamps I used are listed here:

#628-I "Toy Train"
#5104 - Cloud Sil
#1113-D - Happy Birthday

Please come and play along with us at The House.  We would love to see what you do with the sketch.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
