JANUARY 2018 DESIGNER'S CHOICE CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello House Friends!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  It's the start of a new year, a new month and a new series of challenges at The House That Stamps Built.

The incredibly talented Laurie is hosting our challenge this week and her challenge is "Things with Wings".

I so love the garden fairy stamps that are in the store at Repeat Impressions.  I have used them before and find myself smiling when I'm creating with them.  I recently got this RI#4301-K "Fairy's Lantern" to add to my collection and I love it.  I wanted to create a scene for her, so I used RI#629-I "Mountain Vista".  I first stamped the mountains and then decided where I wanted the fairy situated.  I stamped it there and colored just the body portion with a black Copic Marker, creating a shadow.  The latern was left open to color. I stamped the fairy again on a separate scrap of white cs and colored it again with Copic markers and fussy cut the body out.  After sponging the panel with Distress Inks and sprinkling it with water, I adhered the fussy cut piece to the shadow.  The sentiment is RI#2512-E "Just a Note".

Head on over to these incredibly talented Rock Stars for lots more "things with wings" inspiration.  Then visit THE HOUSE for information on how to enter the challenge and get your creation into a drawing for $25.00 worth of fabulous Repeat Impressions Stamps.

BIRTHDAYS AND DONUTS - GLAZED PLEASE

Hello Junkies!

Did you catch the new Technique Junkies Stamps release blog hop yesterday?  It was amazing and loaded with creative inspiration with the new stamp release.

Don't forget to take advantage of the 15% discount for the new stamps - it's only available until January 8th, so don't miss the opportunity to grab some or all of this awesome release.

One of the stamp sets included in this January 2018 Release  is the adorable "Birthdays and Donuts".  What a fun stamp set this is.  I did surgery on mine so I could get more stamps out of it, I can always piece it back together if I'd like to, but I had this cascading donut design in my head and I just had to try it.

Usually, I would do a masking technique to make the "pile" of donuts, but in this case, I wanted them to appear transparent....as in a vague memory (as the sentiment states).  I did some Copic no line coloring to give the image a softer look.

Visit the Technique Junkies Stamps store and discover lots of incredible stamps.  If find others you like too (other than the January 2018 release), please use my discount code TJ10Cheri for a 10% off your entire order of any other stamps and enjoy them.

JANUARY 2018 TECHNIQUE JUNKIES NEW RELEASE

Hello and HAPPY NEW YEAR Junkie fans!!!

We're back and excited!  We have a brand new release blog hop from Technique Junkies Stamps for you to start 2018 with and we hope you enjoy it.

If you came here from the super talented  Lee Ann's Blog, you're in the right place.  Didn't you adore her creations?

As you hop along and gather inspiration (and you will) from this amazing design team, don't forget to grab the new stamps you like at the awesome 15% off discount.  The discount will only last until the 8th of January, so don't miss this opportunity.  No code needed, just put them in your shopping cart and you'll be discounted.

I've got three cards for you...

This card uses "Truly, Madly, Deeply".  The bg is die cuts in white cs adhered to a white cs panel.  I wanted the sentiment to really stand out on this and I think I accomplishsed that.

"Cute" doesn't begin to describe this adorable stamp set called "Happy Winter Wishes".  I used "Love Harlequin" stamped in VersaMark ink and clear embossed, then sponged with Distress Inks to create the bg for this adorable bunny.

My final card again uses "Love Harlequin"  for a background for this adorable stamp "The Kiss".  I colored the image with Copic Markers, then made a mask and masked it before sponging around the image with Distress Oxide Antique Linen ink.  The sentiment comes from "Love you More Set of 5".

Now, head on over to Stephanie's blog so she can show you her incredible creations.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Enjoy the hop and don't forget to take advantage of the 15% off discount for the new stamps you see in this hop.
