Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
The challenge for this hop is to make a card showcasing one of your favorite things. Whether it's birthdays, flowers, coffee...the choices are endless....there is a twist.....only GKD Stamps released from August 2012 - January 2013 can be used.
If you've come here from the fabulously talented Brenda's blog, then you're in the right place. If not, you won't want to miss anything and should go to the BEGINNING and enjoy each and every fabulously creative member of this group.
One of my most favorite things is walking/snowshoeing/skiing in the snowy woods and breathing in the cool air and pine trees. Fortunately, for me, Melanie's newest Stately Flowers 6 stamp set included Maine as one of the featured stamps. Maine is known as "The Pine Tree State" so my choice of stamp sets was easy.
I made two cards using Melanie's newest Stately Flowers 6 stamp set and as you can see, I wanted to let that pine branch have all the attention.
After stamping the image several times on some GKD Kraft card stock,I colored them with my seldom used Distress Markers and then highlighted the images with my white pen. I split the image and layered it in order to give it a "window" look. The "snow" was made with Viva Pearl Pen, "Ice White".
For this card I stamped the image twice then colored one with Copic Markers, then fussy cute it and layered it over the other image. I trimmed the panel and sponged around the edges and popped it up with pop dots on some dp. I then used some "frosted lace" Stickles to give the image an icy look. Then, for a little interest, I cut a tiny piece of GKD kraft cs and glued it on the one corner.
Thank you for stopping by - now please head on over to the super talented Geri's blog....she always has something spectacular for us.

Beautiful cards! Snow always does look best on cards! I am ready for Spring! :)
Great inspiration. Although I am very tired of snow - I will have to remember this for when I think of the serenity and beauty of a snowfall, instead of that snow shovel that needs to be brought out again!
Both of these cards are beautiful; however, I love the first one; the window effect. Growing up in the mountains, this just "speaks" to me.
Wowee, love the different looks you've achieved here with the same image! the puffy white snow pearl drops on the first are fab, and I love what you did with the glitter!
