DESIGNER'S CHOICE CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE

Hello, blog friends!!!

Got Spring?????  It's not here yet, but we're optimistic and hopeful....fingers and toes crossed....listening with bated breath to the weather forecast for today....more snow coming in.  Got Spring?????  Nope!

Over at The House That Stamps Built it's designer's choice challenge and this time our very talented Rock Star, Brenda has a challenge she calls "Things with Wings".  A great spring (if it ever gets to us) challenge!

Repeat Impressions has some amazing red rubber stamps....so many with wings.  This stamp (#4302-I "Fun Bumblebee") is one of my favorites!!!  It makes me smile each time I use it, so of course it was my "go to" stamp for Brenda's challenge.  The sentiment (RI #2501-H "Happy Birthday from) is one I cut apart.  I often do that to get more mileage out of my stamps, but also to accommodate a font size for the image I'm matching.

Please join us in Brenda's challenge.  Just head on over to "The House" and get the details.  You might just win a gift certificate for some incredible Repeat Impressions Stamps.

What more inspiration?  Visit the Rock Stars.

A NEW TECHNIQUE

Hi blog friends,

A quick post here.  (my second one today!)  I took the new Online CAS Card Class 3 and it was sensational!  If you've never taken one of these classes you should sign up.  They're interactive and you can sign up for one at any time - even after it's closed.

There's a badge on my right sidebar and if you click on it, it should take you to the site where you can register and sign up.

Anyway, on day 5 of this class, the lesson was about bringing the background into the foreground.  One of the techniques Shari Carrol  shared was the "graffiti technique".  I'd seen this before but had never tried it, but oh what fun it was.

Here is my card using this technique.

I will try this again...it wasn't my best work, but I really enjoyed the challenge of this technique.

Have a great week!

OUTLAWZ CAS CHALLENGE

Warm spring greetings, blog friends!

Were you live, I hope you ARE having a nice spring weather....here in Maine, we have snow, snow and more snow!  The big question we are asking is "will spring truly ever arrive?".   We're expecting another snowstorm mid-week....will that be our last one for this winter season????  We sure hope so!

There's a new CAS challenge over at Outlawz Challenges this week.  It's Pryn's turn and she has a really fun one for you to try.  Outlawz is a free membership site with a new challenge for every day of the week.  Check it out, if you haven't already.

The CAS challenge for this week is - We are calling this one the "Your So FRAME-ous" Challenge!  It is quite simple to play along.  All you need to do is to create a CAS card or project that uses a frame.  You can die cut it, stamp it, doodle it, ink it...whatever your heart desires (as long as it is clean and simple)!  Frame it all, just your sentiment or focal image or even use it as a design element.  Take the walk of FRAME and show us your best stuff!

See, I told you it was fun.

Here is a card I created for the challenge

My "frame" was created with a "polaroid" wood veneer embellishment I picked up on sale at Michaels a few weeks back.  I decorated it by inking up a Hamton Arts bg stamp with Heor Arts, "Raspberry Jam" mid-tone Shadow Ink and stamping directly on the wood veneer.  The focal image is from Technique Tuesdays "Animal House" stamp set.  The sentiment is from a set from PTI called "Handwritten Notes".

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll find some time to play along with the CAS challenge this week.
