CASE'ing Olga

Hi blogger friends!

Since I began my "hobby/passion" creating cards I have become true friends with many people I have never met in person.  It's my dearest hope that one day my path crosses with each one of them.  I'd like to tell you about one of those friends.

In May of 2009, I found StampTV and poking through the gallery there I found some great inspiration and one day I found the courage to post a card I'd created.  The very first comment I received on my card came from Olga Jewel.  Her comment was so positive and she gave me so much encouragement - so I posted another one and several more after that.  Olga always commented - wow, what a wonderful feeling to be followed and encouraged.

Olga is a DT for Heartfelt Creations and the other day, she posted a fabulous card on her blog and I just had to CASE the technique she used on the black CS.  Please go over there and give my friend Olga some love.  My card has nowhere near the details and the fabulous design that Olga's has but I hope it shows a reasonable attempt at an honorable CASE.

Thanks for the encouragement and the inspiration, Olga....HUGS.  You're dear creative friend.

CR84FN34 Celebrate

Happy day, blogger friends!  It's another gorgeous day here in the great state of Maine!  I hope it is where you are too.

Today I'm playing along with a color challenge over at CR84FN.  The colors they've choosen to play with are yellow, pink and bright pink.

This is the second week of this challenge, so there's time for you to play along too, if you'd like to.  I needed to make a birthday card for a young lady next month and think these colors make a nice, bright special day statement.

The details:  Stamps - Gina K Design "Perfect Pennants"  illustrated by Tami Mayberry.  CS:  Pure Luxury "Innocent Pink", "Bubblegum Pink" and "Wild Dandelion" by Gina K Design.  DP:  Echo Park 6x6 paper pad "Splash".  Sizzix ef, Nestabilities, Copic Markers.

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving your encouraging comments.

Peace Be With You

Oh, boy....it's two'fer Tuesday!  If you're a follower of my blog by email you're getting served an extra portion of cards from me today.  I wanted to post a second card because I've been playing with some Technique Junkie techniques and this card came together so quickly and I wanted to share it with you.
The technique is called "Nesties Spotlighting" and you can find the instructions (as well as so many more techniques) on the "Emboss or Die" CD.  You can get it HERE.

It's so difficult when we have to send a sympathy card to someone we love and care about.  However, the new stamp set by Melanie Muenchinger "The Vine" can help send such a message so eloquently.
Thanks for stopping by - I know there are a ton of blogs out there and I appreciate each and every one of you who stop by here and I love reading your great comments.

Monochromatic Birthday Wishes

Happy Day, Blogger friends!  It's so much cooler here today and even the birds are happy about it.  They've been singing loudly all morning.  We had some rain last night and it gave everything a badly needed drink of water while cooling us down.

I'm sharing a card I made a card for two challenges this week -

Over at StampTV Suzanne Dean is challenging us to create a monochromatic card.  There are some lovely entries in the gallery over there....check them out for some fantastic monochromatic inspiration.

The second challenge I'm entering is over at Card Patterns

The links are here to each challenge if you'd like to play along.
Mix It Up Monday
Sketch Patterns

Details:  Stamp is from the set "Dreams" illustrated by Tami Mayberry for Gina K Designs.  BG paper (which has a wonderful linen feel to it) is from DCWV Latte Matstack which I embossed with a CB EF (sorry, I don't know the name but it was a lone branch).  For the layering piece behind the stamped image (which was cut with Nestabilities rectangle die) is another CB folder that I embossed and then cut out free-hand.  I then distressed around the edges of each piece with DI "Lovely Lavender".  The finishing embellishments are MS punches, Liquid Pearls, a hand-crocheted flower, ribbon and paper rose from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by - I hope you all have a great day!

You're a Class Act

Happy day, Blogger friends!  It's so much cooler here in Maine today - a break from that awful heat, even for a day is a relief!

I'm entering two fun challenges with the card I'm posting today

the first challenge is over at StampTV where Cat has challenged us to "CASE the DT" and she chose the fabulously talented DT Carolina Buchting.  You can find all the details for the challenge HERE.

The second challenge is HERE at Mojo Monday where they're celebrating their 200th MoJo Sketch challenge!!!

Here's my card for both challenges:

Details for this card - The background panel is a dp that was included in the StampTV StampKit, "Vintage Chic".  I colored it with Distress Inks using a technique called "Vintage Art" I found in the latest issue of Technique Junkies Newsletter .  The stamp set used is "Gleefully Yours"  also from Gina K Designs.  Also used, Copic Markers, Nestabilities Circles.

The card I chose to CASE from Carolina's gallery is here:

I hope you all are enjoying your weekend!
