WHAT IF? WEDNESDAY AT REPEAT IMPRESSIONS

Hello blog friends!

What a week this has been!  I hope many of you got to see the last post "Lots of Love for Lauryn" and will send this little girl a card.  She and her family are fighting a major battle with cancer.  All the links are provided in the post.

Here we are at Wednesday!  When did that happen?  It's another WIW from Wendy at Repeat Impressions and The House That Stamps Built blog.  Every other week she gives us a sketch and challenges her Rock Star DT to show you what we got.  Sometimes it's a REAL challenge....speaking for myself, mind you.

You are always invited to play along and join us...get inspired....post your creation to the link over at The House and get yourself entered in a drawing to win some fabulous RI stamps.  You will love them.  If you use RI stamps in your project, you'll be entered twice!  Go for it!

Here's this week's sketch

I took some creative liberties with this sketch and created my card - it's what makes "sketches" so much fun to play with.

The stamps I used for this card are 1317-L, "Vase of Tulips" and for the sentiment (I just love this script) 2512-E "Just a Note".  I did some paper piecing, some coloring, some dry embossing, and some punching for this card.

I hope you'll join the challenge and for even more inspiration, please visit my Rock Star teamies....

Thanks for stopping by and happy Wednesday!!!

LOTS OF LOVE FOR LAURYN

Isn't this little girl just precious? Let me introduce you....
Lauryn was diagnosed with Leukemia on March 27, 2014. She is currently hospitalized in the DC area undergoing chemotherapy to fight this terrible disease.  Lauryn is Linda Payne's granddaughter...many of you in the stamping community probably already know sweet Linda!

As news of Lauryn's illness spread via social media, many of you have asked if there is anything you can do to help, so we have come up with a plan. We decided to have a Card Drive and would like to invite YOU to help by sending "happy mail" to Lauryn and her family.

Please create cards to share your love and encouragement for Lauryn and her family. Lauryn's parents are Josh and Elizabeth and she has two older siblings: Lily and Logan. We thank the Lord for this dear family and need to pray for them as they are seeking to glorify the Lord throughout this trial.

Cards can be mailed to:

Children's National
Hematology/Oncology RM 437
Lauryn Newsome
111 Michigan Ave NW
Washington DC 20010

You can find updates on Lauryn via a Facebook page that has been set up by some family. It is Fight on Little Lauryn. They have shared how encouraging it is receive a simple "like" on a Facebook status or words of love and encouragement that is posted.
Here is the fabulous group of bloggers who have joined us in promoting this Card Drive. We would love for you to hop with us as numerous bloggers have blog candy and all you need to do is leave a comment...

CAS CHALLENGE AT OUTLAWZ CHALLENGES

Greetings blog friends!!!

It finally feels like spring in these parts and it lifts the spirits of all of us.  What a joy it is to see "green" sprouting up from the ground and the spring flowers beginning to show.  It's been (as they say here in Maine) a wicked haah'd wint'ah!

There's a new CAS challenge over at Outlawz Challenges and it fits right in with spring.  This week it's Cara's turn and here is her challenge:

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac  "April's birth flower is the daisy which conveys innocence, loyal love, and purity. It is also a flower given between friends to keep a secret; the daisy means "I'll never tell."
The other April flower is the sweet pea. "Sweet peas signify blissful pleasure, but are also used to say good-bye."
April is a busy month for this gal as birthdays abound in our family. I want you to create a BIRTHDAY card or project showcasing one of these lovely flowers. Your choice - Daisy or Sweet Pea - just have fun and keep it CAS

Here is my card for Cara's challenge:

Stamps:  "Year of Flowers" and "Vogue Vases" both from GKD.   The technique "Ghost Stamping" I used came from Jennifer McGuire Here.

I hope you'll come over and join the Outlawz (free membership site) and get in on some of the fabulous challenges (there's one for every day of the week).  You might just possibly win one of the fabulous prize give-aways.

Have a great week everyone and I hope you'll all come back tomorrow for the big blog hop for Little Lauryn.  You can link to the information from the badge on the top right of my blog.
