StampTV Sketch Challenge #22

What a great release party over at StampTV last night!  If you haven't seen the newest stamp sets from Gina K Design for this month, take a look (after you leave here, of course) and see all the gorgeous creations by her DT with the new stamps.
I've created this card for the current sketch challenge which is to make a round card.  I don't often think to make a different shaped card, so this was a fun change for me.  I'll make more of them now....I really like the idea.
This is the sketch and Gina did a video showing how to create a round card.

This is my round card:

These could also be used as tags on gifts and it's what I will probably use this for.

Details:  CS GKD Pure Luxury Vibrant Violet, Wild Lilac and Lovely Lavender and White.  The stamp is from the "Springtime Silhouettes" StampTV kit and it's been stamped with Memento Grape Jelly.  The music ribbon is from Tim Holtz self sticking ribbon.  I painted the bird with a gold Sakura gold metalic pen.

Thank you for stopping by.
Have a blessed Easter everyone.

Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #51

I feel like there should be some horse galloping music playing behind me these days like there used to be in the old western movies....I always seem to be rushing/galloping to complete a project, post a project or get a card in the mail or "heaven's to Betsy".....get the Easter goodies mailed in time for Easter!
That being said, I am rushing in here with a card I made for Speedy the Cat's Challenge this week.  I love collage work and when I saw they were having a collage challenge, I knew I wanted to try and get a card made for it.
I love this Happy Pansies set I got from Mark's Finest Papers several weeks ago and I though it would be perfect for a collage card.

The background is done with Tim Holt's Distress Ink technique using "Chipped Sapphire", "Shabby Shutters" and "Mustard Seed".  After it dried, I used "Forest Moss" Distress Ink to stamp the flourish and leaves with some cheap foam stamps I found in Michaels many months ago (for $1.00).  I then stamped the bee and sentiment from the Happy Pansies set in "Chipped Sapphire" ink and I colored in the little bodies with a touch of yellow Copic marker.  The pansy cluster was stamped, colored (with Copic Markers) and cut separately then secured with Pop Dots.  I really like the way it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a joyous Easter!

It's all About Spring

Ah, spring....my daffodils are coming up the grass is turning green.....it doesn't get better than this, after a long, cold, snowy winter.
Technique Junkies has some great new techniques this month and one of them is called "embellished circles".  It was right up my ally.  I needed to get my mojo revved up and this did it.

I'm entering this card in the Outlawz Sunday CAS challenge for this week.  It's all about spring!  Yay!!  I did one in lavender and one in turquoise.  (can you tell I'm excited about spring???  LOL)
Here's Amy's challenge:  Spring is in the air (well it is in my neck of the woods LOL!!) So for your CAS Challenge this week let's see those Spring Inspired creations!!

Details:  All products are Gina K Design.
Stamp sets "Fun Year Round" and "Basket Blessings" are illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K Designs.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

More Animal Shots

Well, it's certainly been an animal week for us!

As I was leaving for work this morning - a little after 7:00, I looked up and this moose was standing on my lawn, watching me.  I can't begin to tell you how shocked (and excited) I was to see this lady.  Hubby was heading off toward the backyard to feed the birds and through my car window I called him back.  When he saw what I was pointing at, he ran into the house and grabbed the camera.  At least we got this shot before she headed back to the woods.  This is the second moose I've seen on our property since moving here 11 years ago.  Very cool experience.

This is the time of year their fur sheds, so she looked quite mangy.

Oh, the wonderful wonders of our natural world, huh?

Bobbi and her "Kitten"

This is so funny.  I bought a fake kitten to put in my mother's Easter basket....she loves kitties...I brought it home and my cat, Bobbi immediately began acting like it was her kitten.  I'd never seen anything like this, but now I'm thinking I have to go buy another one....for my mother....again.

Too cute!  Had to share this!

A Fun Color Challenge

Hello, blogger buds!

There are few color combos that I love more than blue, yellow and white.  Those colors just say bright, loud and clear!

Recently, my cousin (an exceptionally talented craft lady) made an afghan for my mother (who many of you may know is an Alzheimer's disease victim), with these colors.  Look at this....

In addition to the gorgeous afghan, she made her a sweet cloche hat.

Over at StampTV there is a color challenge using these colors....

I didn't have a specific recipient in mind when I made my card, yet, many times lately, I've had a reason to congratulate someone and wished I had a card ready to give them....now I do!

The button I used is from a collection of old buttons I got from my mother's home when we were cleaning it out....It fit this card so well I knew I just had to use it.

Details:  CS Gina K Designs Pure Luxury White, Navy and Wild Dandelion.  The Navy layer is embossed with CuttleBug Folder "Swiss Dots".
Stamps:  Lovely Labels 2, Illustrated by Nina Brackett.
Nestabilities Labels Fifteen.  The bottom label is embossed with a CuttleBug Folder  (sorry, I forgot the name of it)
Inks:  Vivid "Straw" and Memento "Danube Blue"  Little seed pearls were added to the flourish for some dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Enjoy your day!

With Love On Your Birthday

Hi there blog friends!
It's been some time since I've posted, and I would apologize, only while I wasn't posting, I was spending time with my older brother who came for a visit - I hadn't seen him in 7 years, and his visit wasn't long enough....so, I didn't want to miss a minute of time with him.  Stamping and posting were put on the back burner.
That being said, I wanted to get a card made for the sketch challenge over at StampTV this week.  It's a great sketch and I had a birthday card in mind for it.  Once again, I'm just under the wire for the deadline for submission (by 8:00 tonight), but better late than never....seems to be my weekend mantra!  LOL.
Gina's sketch is a catchy one....but fun to do.  I'll be saving this one for future cards.

Here's my card using this sketch.

Details:  CS is Gina K Designs Pure Luxury White, Lovely Lavender (brand new) and Vibrant Violet.  Stamps:  GKD StampTV Stamp Set "Springtime Silhouettes".
Designer Paper:  Latte Matstack by DCWV
Misc:  Punches, buttons, lace ribbon, silver pearls

I've got some more to post but that's for later.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
