DESIGNER'S CHOICE CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE

Happy Wednesday (aka "hump day") blog friends!!!

I'm here with another Wednesday challenge from The House That Stamps Built and today its a DCC (designer's choice challenge) from the incredibly talented Rock Star, Joy Hadden.

Joy's challenge is "thankful".  Here's a great challenge that will get you to create a card for someone you want to thank or a card to put aside for a time to thank someone.

Using the cup from RI #9303-P "Thanks a latte" I created this card by sponging DI in 4 colors in Laura Bassen's gradient fashion, on cs and then stamping the mug image on each colored cs piece and fussy cutting them out.  I arranged them 1/3rd in from the outer edge of the card after placing an embossed piece of black cs along the edge for design effect.  On one of the cups I stamped the sentiment then added the enamel dots in coordinating colors on the outer edge of the cups.

Now swing on over to the other Rock Stars and see what they've done with Joy's thankful challenge.  Then create your own card and link it at The House (all the details are found there) and you'll be entered in a drawing for some awesome RI stamps.

CAS HEARTS AND FLOWERS CHALLENGE AT OUTLAWZ

Hello, blog friends!!!

There's a new CAS challenge over at Outlawz Challenges and I would be delighted if you'd come over and play along.   I am hosting the challenge and I think you'll like it.
Here's the CAS challenge for this week:
It's that time of year when we see a lot of hearts and flowers all around.  Your challenge for this week is to include hearts and/or flowers on your CAS project.  It doesn't have to be a Valentine theme - just be sure it includes hearts and/or flowers and it's CAS.

For this card I used "Spring Blooms" from WPlus 9 and Simon Says stamp set "Sending and Wishing".  This is my first attempt at using layering stamps sets such as the Spring Blooms, and it took me 4X to get the look I wanted.  There's a bit of a learning curve with these stamps, but oh, so much fun to use.
We are expecting another big snowstorm today and tomorrow....if true, we're expecting another foot of snow.  It would add to the 3-4 feet we already have and the temps have been well below zero each and every day.  Spring can't come soon enough!
I hope you all have a great week.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you'll play along with the CAS challenge at Outlawz Challenges.  There are some great prizes to win.
