INSPIRATION CHALLENGE FOR THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT APRIL 2017

Hello there crafty peeps!

There's a new inspiration challenge at The House That Stamps Built and here it is.

Gorgeous isn't it?  Whatever it is that inspires you from this image, (the colors, the texture, the image itself...) go with it and enter our challenge.  You will be entered in the end of the month drawing for a $25.00 gift certificate for Repeat Impressions stamps.

I was inspired by the colors, and I used watercoloring to try and bring them to the background of this card.  The colors are much better in person.  However, I was also inspired by the texture and used the RI Stamp #1216-O "Ruffled Heart Border" to show that.  The sentiment is RI#1211-J "So Faith".

For more great ideas for inspiration check out my team mates....their projects are amazing.

We all hope you get an opportunity to play along.  You can get all the details at The House.

I'm so happy you stopped by.  If you love RI stamps as much as I do, grab my code rr10cw for a 10% discount and enjoy.

DISTRESS OXIDE INKS, GOOD THOUGHTS AND SUNBEAMS

Hello there junkies.....

I recently purchased some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks from Technique Junkies Store and I couldn't wait to play with them.

I first have to tell you how incredibly smooth these inks are to blend, and layering them was so much fun...once I started, it seemed like I couldn't stop.  If you haven't tried them, let me enable you....you will love them!

Here's a card I made building multiple layers of DOI and a stencil.  The Technique Junkies stamp I used for this card is "Shine Like Sunbeams" .  The words in the stamp are open, and I to help make them pop a little more, I used a gray Memento marker to fill in the open areas.

The stencil I used is from Memory Box.  After doing all my ink playing, I sprinkled some water on the layer and blotted it off for some added dimension.  I also sprayed some Perfect Pearl spay over the panel for some additional pazazz!

If you love techniques, join our FaceBook Page  and see what we're all up to.

Also, you're invited to join the new MONTHLY CHALLENGE where we showcase a new technique each month, give you the tutorial and an opportunity to win a $25.00 gift certificate to the TJ Store.   This month (April 2017) the technique is Tie Dye.  Check out THIS post for more information.

Can't wait to win and want you some TJ Stamps...I have a discount code for you...use TJ10Cheri at check out and you'll be given 10% off your entire order of stamps.

TIC TAC TOE CHALLENGE FOR APRIL 2017 AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello crafty friends,

Are you excited that spring is here and finally, after a long, cold winter we see green grass and even tiny, fuzzy green leaves appearing on early bushes?  I am!  My daffodils are coming up and it's so refreshing to see them instead of snow and ice!

It's time for the Tic Tac Toe challenge for this month at The House That Stamps Built.  Here is your TTT challenge.

I went down the right-hand side, (Yellow, Washi Tape and Stenciling) but I included "birds" from the left-hand side.

The stamps used here are RI#704-G "Duckling" and RI#3906-H "Easter Blessings".  I combined stencils and sponged them with Distress Inks, Tumbled Glass and Squeezed Lemon.  The washi tape is the solid yellow accent piece to the left.  My cute little duckling is colored with (what else?) Copic Markers!

Check out my awesome team mates and see what incredible projects they've made with the new Tic Tac Toe challenge!

COLLAGE AND DELFT TILES

Hello Junkies!

Did you get to see the April Release of new stamps from Technique Junkies?  There are some pretty awesome stamps released this month and I'm using one of them here today.  It's called Flowers and Feather Collage.

The technique is called "delft tiles" and quite easy to do.  First stamp your image with embossing ink (I used VersaFine) then emboss with white embossing powder.  At this point I dragged "Blueprints" Distress Ink over the entire surface several times, getting a good ink coverage.  Wipe the ink from the white embossing and then determine the size of the panels you'll cut your layer with.  Mine were cut at 1" X 1.25".  You then lay them out on your base layer.  Simply arrange and adhere the tiles on the base layer leaving a tiny bit of the bg layer showing.

How you would like to get 10% off all your Technique Junkie Stamps?  Simply use this code TJ10CHERI at checkout and you'll get the discount.

Please visit our new FaceBook page and join in on the conversations and add some of your work with our stamps.  We'd love to see what you're creating.

Visit the Technique Junkies Blog and see the beautiful creation being showcased today!

That's it for me today....thanks for stopping by and I hope you have some crafty fun today.

A HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOUQUET

Hello everyone,

I wanted to jump in on the birthday celebration over at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Happy Birthday" this week - Simon Says Stamps is celebrating an awesome 8 years!  Congratulations Simon Says Stamps!!!!

and CAS Watercolor Cards (new to me) Challenge "Pink and Green".

My card uses Altenew "Dahlia Blossoms".  As most of you know, Altenew has so many florals, but this one jumped out of the shop and into my cart the second I saw it.
I used Tim Holtz watercolor paper, Distress Inks and an aqua brush to color my flowers. After drying them, I embossed the flowers with gold embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you grab some crafting time this weekend!
