DECEMBER 2018 TIC, TAC, TOE CHALLENGE FROM THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hellooo House friends!!!!

Welcome to another Wednesday challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  Today we're having a Tic, Tac, Toe challenge.  You select three items from the board in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal position and create a card or project using those three items.

From the board below, I selected the three items in the first horizontal line.  Sparkle, Penguins and patterned paper.  The stamps I chose are RI#8806-N "Christmas Penguins" and the sentiment is RI#8803-F "Coolest Christmas".

The Penguins were stamped then colored with Copic Markers then masked off in order to sponge a dye ink background.  Once the mask was removed, I used a Nuvo glitter marker to draw around the outer edge to make a frame for the sparkle and adhered the panel to a piece of polka dot patterend paper and then onto a card base.  Very easy card to make.  For some sparkly snow, I added dots of the Nuvo glitter marker on the penguin panel.

Come on over and play the game of Tic, Tac, Toe along with myself and my Rock Star team mates.  Detail on how to enter can be found at THE HOUSE.

Look at the blogs of my team mates and see their incredible creations.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and feel free to grab my discount coupon (RR10CW) if you'd like to purchase yourself some Repeat Impressions Stamps.  Using it will discount your stamp order 10%.

COUNTRY CHURCH IN DOUBLES

Hi there Junkies!!!

Can you handle a couple of more Christmas cards?  I know you're all probably ready to see the end of Christmas card posts, so don't shoot me...I'm bringing you my last Christmas card post...PROMISE.   (But, I love making Christmas cards...I really do).

In my last few posts, I've been showing you two cards using one stamp and it's a way to get double the value for your stamps and helps cut down on time making cards.  That's a win/win.

If you like the stamps I've used here and would like to purchase them or any others in the Technique Junkies Stamps store, please go ahead and use my personal code (TJ10CHERI) at checkout for a 10% reduction on your entire order of stamps and other products.

The stamps I used for both of these cards are "Country Church" and a sentiment from "Gifts of Christmas Set of 5".  Country Church is a great Christmas stamp, but it has unlimited possibilities such as a wedding card, baptism, anniversary, sympathy or perhaps a birthday card for someone.  Lots of mileage can be gained from that stamp.  It's a beauty.

To get the image results shown here, using my MISTI, I stamped the church in bright dye color inks on a white card stock panel.  Leaving the stamp in the same position on the MISTI, and without cleaning the stamp, I took a darker ink (Clair) and inked the stamp in various places along the edges and within the image itself.  Then, without cleaning the stamp again, I inked the stamp one more time with the same bright color, but just in the center area, and stamped again.  The results were stunning!!!  The inks trick the eye into seeing depth and layers of texture.

The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark Ink, then heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Give this technique a try and have some creative fun.  Don't forget, you have my coupon code if you'd like some new stamps and products for yourself.

DECEMBER 2018 DESIGNER'S CHOICE CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello house friends!

It's the first Wednesday of the month and that means it's a designer's choice challenge at The House That Stamps Built.  It's Donna's turn to give us the challenge and she wants us to make anything but a card.

I love to give books as gifts at Christmas so this year I've made some bookmarks using lots of Repeat Impressions Stamps. These are the stamps I used #4603-F "Got Snow" , # 8914-E Snowflake Solid, 8916-F "Snowflake Outline", 8805-K "Snow Flakes"#8808-E "Knit Cap Penguin (sm), #2012-H Poinsettia, #4715-K "Snow Light", and 2714-D "Small Pine Forest".  This was such a fun project and I hope you'll be inspired to play along with Donna's challenge.

I used an old banner/tag nesting die I've had for'evah and used it to cut card stock bases, then using the next layer die, I cut various design papers and sewed them to the cs base.  What doesn't show, I covered the backs with other designer papers in order to cover the stitching and make the bookmarks look finished.  Pieces of ribbon and trim were added to the bookmarks. Lots of scraps were used up making these, how great is that?

You don't need dies to create bookmarks. Get creative and join the anything but a card challenge this week at THE HOUSE.  Entering is easy, just check out the details and play along!

For more incredible ideas and inspiration, check out my team mates...they so rock.

Thanks for stopping by today.

AND A ROBIN IN A HOLLY BUSH

Hello everyone!

I'm here with a new Christmas card using the gorgeous stamp "Holly Bird" from Technique Junkies Stamps.

Using my MISTI, the image was stamped with Clair Ink  and colored the image with Chameleon ColorTone Pencils.  Copic Markers were used to color the background and add highlight around the image.  After die cutting the panel I adhered it to a light blue card base layer, then onto the card card base.  For a final touch of texture, Liquid Pearls in Ruby Red was added to the berries.

The sentiment is from the "Gifts of Christmas set of 5".

I hope you found some inspiration while you were visiting today.  If you'd like to purchase the stamps used here, please feel free to grab my discount coupon (TJ10Cheri) for a full 10% off your entire purchase.

Have a wonderful week.

NOVEMBER 2018 ANYTHING GOES CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hi there house friends!

Wow!  Where did this month go?  Holy smokes!!!!

If you follow the challenges at The House That Stamps Built blog (blog of Repeat Impressions stamps), you'll know we have challenges each and every Wednesday.  You have the full month to enter every week's challenge before a winner is chosen to win a gift certificate of $25.00 for any stamps in the Repeat Impressions store.  If you use a Repeat Impressions stamp in your entry, you're entered twice in that challenge.

So, come on over and play along with us, every week or only one, and even if it takes you all month to create a card for each challenge, we hope you'll do it.

Now, it's the last Wednesday of this month so the challenge is "Anything Goes".  Here's a card I made and I hope it inspires you to join us.

Winter, buffalo plaid (we all wore coats of this wool growing up), wood and Christmas.  They call came together in this card.  I used RI# 6006-M "Forest Positive" and RI#3907-G "Rejoice".  (This stamp is in the "spring" category, but it fits Christmas too.)

There's a little bit of myself in each card I make and this one took on a life of it's own as I created it.  It's a small snapshot of growing up in a small mountain/lake town, wearing wool coats and playing outside in the woods during the winters.  Christmas was special. My father would take my brothers and sister and I and we'd go out in the woods and find a tree....some of them look very much like the Peanuts' Christmas tree, LOL...but we'd pick it out and dad would chop it down and we'd drag it home. I'm rejoicing in those memories.

Please join our challenge this week....the details on how to enter and what you could win are at THE HOUSE.

Also, my team mates are rocking this ATG challenge.  If you need a rocket boost, check them out.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I'm glad you did.
