FLUFFING YOUR (RED) TUTU

Hi there Junkies....

Unless you were napping, you must have seen the fabulous and fun stamp "Fluff Your Tutu" just released (August 2017) from Technique Junies.

I haven't used my supply of Stickles in a long time, but I loved how they worked on this stamp image after embossing it on black cs with white ep.  I stamped the background layer with "Here We Go Round In Circles" set, using black an red ink.  For additional detail I added Nuvo Glitter Markers to the centers of the circles.

What a fun stamp this is.

Thanks so much for stopping by and check out all the awesome stamps from Technique Junkies....I'll help you shop....you can use my personal 10% discount if you'd like.  Just add it to the coupon code area at check out.

Have a crafty day...

POTW - STAMPING TIP - REPURPOSE CLEAR PACKAGING FOR STAMPING

Hi there,

I'm here with a helpful stamping tip for you instead of a project.

Often times, especially with rubber stamps, it's difficult to decide just where you'd like an image on your project.  The stamp positioners, or MISTI  are wonderful tools, but in the case of being undecided as to where you'd like the image or sentiment, this is a great tip and comes in handy for me often.

Shown in this photo are two pieces of packaging materials.  The one on the left is a sturdier piece of acrylic that came in something, while the one the right is a celophane package.  Both work equally well.

I cut the pieces a little larger than an A2 card because that's the card size I usually make.

You don't need the MISTI or stamp positioner for this step, but in the photo I used the MISTI because my cardstock was already in it.

I placed the acrylic piece right on top of my CS and began placing my stamp around it while I decided where I might like the image to be.

At this point, you can move the acrylic piece around and around the area of your CS and get a good idea of where it pleases you.  If you're using a MISTI, you can wipe the image off the acrylic piece, move the stamp and repeat the step.

The same process applies to the sentiment.  It's a great way to get the right sentiment in the right place.

When you're ready, just slide your acrylic off the CS and ink and stamp.  Finish as you'd like.

The stamps I used here are RI# 3602-P "First Light" and RI# 3212-H "To Everything".

I hope you like this little tip, it’s been helpful to me for many years and I hope it is for you.

Have a happy day and I hope you get some craft time.

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

Hi there Junkies....

Today is the LAST DAY to get the newest August Release stamps at 15% off.  You don't have to add a code, it automatically is applied to your purchase.

Here's a little card I did the other day using one of the stamps from the new August release called "Hibiscus Panel".

This image was stamped on watercolor paper and colored using my MozArt brush pens and and aqua brush.  The bg was created using the same pens and a watercolor wash.  I then sprinkled it with water and used a paper towel to lift the color and created the "orb" detail.  After it dried, acrylic black paint and water was mixed and sprinkled over the image for additional detail.  A final touch was adding clear sequins after die cutting the panel and layering it onto a watercolor paper panel colored with Brusos to help accent the image and the colors.

This image is fabulous and I know I'll be using more and more.

I hope this card inspired you!!!

Don't forget about the 15% off discount on all the new stamps and if you'd like a little more on all the other stamps that Technqiue Junkies offers, please us my discount code TJ10CHERI - just add the code before checking out and a 10% discount will be applied.

AUGUST 2017 DESIGNER'S CHOICE CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello House Friends!!!!

It's my turn to host a Designer's Choice Challenge at The House That Stamps Built and I have been re-watching a bunch of my favorite movies lately and thought it might be fun to create a card using one of those movies as the subject and challenge you to do the same.

My favorite movies are girly flicks....I can't help it, I'm a romantic at heart.  Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing, Sleepless in Seattle, Sweet Home Alabama....oh, I had so many to chose from.

Sweet Home Alabama won out....I attempted to capture the lightening striking the sand on the beach and creating beautiful glass from the movie.

I did say "attempted"  I wasn't creative or artistic enough to draw "lightning" for my card, so I used a tree limb stencil I had and sponged white pigment ink through it. This also helped me "light up" the sky.  I sponged the "sand" with a darker grey ink but kept the "lightning" penetrating the "sand".  I stamped RI#9503-L "Wine Glass" in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with white ep.  I used Copic Markers to color the wine.  The sentiment is from the same set  RI#9510-E "Wine Time".

I hope you'll play along...it might be a little harder than some other challenges, but that's what a challenge is.  Just enjoy the process.

For details on how to enter and what you might win, please link on over to THE HOUSE and get the details.
