MAY 2018 DESIGNER'S CHOICE CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello and welcome, house friends!

We begin each month with a designer's choice challenge.  One of us, gets to challenge you and this month it's Donna's turn to challenge us and her challenge is to make a one layer card.  Easy, right?  Not for me!  I always need a layer or two of something, something.  So here goes....my card for Donna's DCC.

I had to keep it simple....otherwise I would get lost in the details of layers....oh, Donna, how you've challenged me!  I spent some time on Pinterest and found a couple of ideas and they all inspired this card.

I needed some thank you cards and so I started there.  I wanted something simple yet would make a statement that would fit the challenge.  While going through my RI Stamps I decided on this one RI#9706-U "Flowers" from the "Contain Yourself set.  Stamped in VersaFine black ink onto kraft cs, I colored it all in white pencil and accented with a yellow PrismaColor pencil for the center of the daisy.  The sentiment is RI#8607-D "Thanks".

My team mates have some incredibly gorgeous DCC projects to show you.  Here are links to each of their blogs.  I hope you'll pay them a visit.

Donna - Heather - Joy - Laurie - Esther Shirley

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you'll check out the challenge and join in.  You might just be the winner of $25.00 worth of RI stamps!  All the details can be found at THE HOUSE

One layer cards are a challenge for me as well - I do always like other crafters cards but never mine. Love your white on Kraft - and your dots are just the finishing touch.

Actually, Donna picked the challenge this week! AND yes, it was a real challenge! One-layer cards aren't something I do very often (well, probably only when I'm challenged to!)... but it was a lot of fun creating outside my normal comfort zone!
Love the beautiful card you created - clean and simple, and yet very pretty! I've been wanting to do some white on kraft, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

You say you struggle with one layer cards - I think we all do at some time but what you created here is simply gorgeously ca-stunning SS. One layers always look spectacular on kraft and the beautiful flowers look amazing. I so love this one.

This is gorgeous, so crisp, clean and elegant, letting the image shine! One layer cards are difficult for me, I knew my teammates would inspire me!

Awesome one layer card Cheri! Great use of kraft cardstock instead of plain old white too!

Simple and beautiful! The white really pops off the kraft!
