Mix It Up Monday

Hi Blogger friends.....so the last Mix It Up Monday post I made WON the challenge....I posted it at the "eleventh hour", never thinking I had a chance, but the pieces had been sitting on my craft table for several days and I realized I barely had enough time to assemble it and get it posted, but I did anyway.  Moral of the story.....go for it - I won one of the newest Gina K (just released) stamp sets, valued at $23.95.  These are random selections, so there's no guarantee you'll win yet it's worth try....especially if you can win one of the fabulous GKD stamp sets.

Now, on to the newest Mix It Up Monday Challenge

For this one, Cat (she's an amazing DT member for StampTV) has challenged us to a direct to paper technique she calls "Swipe On - Swipe Off" .
I'm a true technique junkie and this one definitely got my attention.

Here's my card doing the swipe on - swipe off technique.  Thanks Cat, this was fabulous....you can get a different back ground every time.

For this card I used GKD Pure Luxury CS  "Soft Sand" and "Turquoise Sea".  To swipe on and swipe off I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks "Aged Mahogany", "Peeled Paint" and "Tumbled Glass".   See that button... It was a find in a tin of antique buttons that my friend Carolyn gave me - how perfect it was for this card.  GKD stamp set "Tree Silhouettes" was used to create the scene and I stamped them with Distress Ink "Forest Moss".

Thanks so much for stopping by.
