My Weekly Card Projects

Happy Saturday!  I love this day of the week.....maybe it's because I was born on Saturday.....it may be because it's a day off from the work week (except for housework).  Anyway, I've made some cards this week and I thought I would show you.

Over at StampTV Gina K is celebrating their first birthday in a BIG way.  Check it out and get in on some of the "candy" that's being offered in celebration.

The current color challenge at StampTV hosted by Tina Gilliland this week is Wine, Yellow and Kraft.  Now, I have to admit I didn't think this color combo could inspire me, but they call it a "challenge" for a reason....so....I bit and took the challenge.  Here's my card in celebration of StampTV's birthday and Tina's color challenge.

(The colors look a little washed out here - not sure why).  The card design is a shaker card; I love making them.  Here are the details:  CS paper:  GKD Pure Luxury "Wine with Everything", "Lemon Drop" and "Kraft".  The DP is from Basic Grey "Indian Summer" pack.  The stamps are GKD "Lovely Labels"(LOVE this set) by Nina Brackett using Nestabilities and the sentiment stamp is from "Arranged with Love", by Melanie Muenchinger.  The ink is Vivid "Garnet".  The punched border is from MS, buttons and ribbon is from GKD.

Here's another birthday card I made this week.  I made this for my lovely sister-in-law, Beth.  Her birthday (she wouldn't want me to tell you what number) is today:  So Beth, if you're reading this, "Happy Birthday".

Details:  GKD Pure Luxury CS "Pure White" for base and "Rocket Red", "Black Onyx" for layering.  I stamped the gorgeous image from "Arranged with Love" by Melanie Muenchinger.  I stamped it twice with Memento Tuxedo Black, then colored the roses on one stamped set with Copic Markers then I cut them out.  I embellished them with 3-D Crystal Lacquer to give them some dew effects.  Once layered on the red and black panels I tied a black and white gingham ribbon and attached a love charm.

So, The other day I was over at my favorite craft shop "Stamp N Scrap" in Gardiner, ME and I found this beautiful designer paper by Bo Bunny.  It looked shabby chic to me so I thought I'd try my hand at making a card with it.  I wanted to try making a flower paper using a technique taught by Cheryl Stauffer at my Altered Book Class at Stamp N Scrap a couple of weeks ago.  (It's so much fun taking the classes Cheryl teaches).

The stamp label stamp is from GKD "Lovely Labels" by Nina Brackett.  CS is GKD Pure Luxury "White", "Innocent Pink" and "Ocean Mist" and they worked wonderfully with the Bo-Bunny dp "Persuasion" The sentiment stamp is from Papertrey Ink.  This was fun to do, but I'd do more shading and give it a more vintage look next time.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

OMG! These are so creative! Absolutely stunning! The shaker card's colors are gorgeous. The rose card really caught my eye because of the colors, but your attention to detail put in the WOW factor! Your flower is gorgeous on your Hi Ya card. Love that paper too!

My sister has lived in Bangor since the early 80s, so I know the beauty of the area. You are truly blessed living there as I am in Colorado!
