WHAT IF? WEDNESDAY COLOR CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hi there, blog friends!!!!

Oh, how I love color challenges and I'm doing a happy dance today because it's the challenge this week at The House!!!

At first sight, this color combination rattled me (okay...I'm blonde...LOTS of things rattle me!) I did all sorts of searches on the Internet and found tons and tons of inspiration and that was a portion of what I was looking for.  However, my complete inspiration came when I found this technique posted by Jennifer McGuire.

I used Jennifer's Distress Ink technique instead of Copics for this image.  I wanted more of a deeper blending.  The stamps uses were RI# 4321-J "Swan Love" and #1211-J "So Faith".

You will love what the other Rock Stars have done with this color challenge.  Take a peak ....

I hope you'll come over and join in on the challenge.  The best part is you'll be entered in a drawing for $25.00 worth of Repeat Impressions Stamps.  The challenge details and how to enter are all found at The House.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'd love to hear what you think of my card.

ANYTHING GOES AT THE HOUSE

Hello blog friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter.

This week the Rock Stars say good-bye to one of our long time team mates, Karen Hashek.  Karen will be so missed in this group.  On a personal level, she's been an anchor and tireless inspiration.  All the best to you Karen.

It's Wednesday and time for another challenge at The House.  The month of March offers a 5th Wednesday and at The House That Stamps Built that means the challenge is "anything goes".

For my card I used Repeat Impression stamps #1216-O "Ruffled Border" and #1208-H "Who Loves Ya".

Check out my incredible team mates...they will rock your socks with this challenge.  And don't forget to join the challenge.  The details can be found at The House.

SKETCH CHALLENGE FROM THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Happy Wednesday, blog friends!

Spring is finally here...or so the calendar says...but here in Maine we had another snowstorm the day after the official first day of spring, leaving 6 inches of fresh snow.  The landscape is pretty all covered in white, however....my daffodils were coming up and I was looking forward to the closing of mud season.  We're now back to mud season.  Ugh!

The bright side is there's a sketch challenge over at The House and we hope you'll join in and play along.

My card uses RI stamps #1318-P "Cottontail Rabbit" and #1302-F "Some Bunny".

Enjoy viewing these blogs and creations from my team mates with this sketch then get on over to The House, get the details and play along with this fun sketch.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful Easter.

PROJECT OF THE WEEK - EASY RESIST

Hi everyone!  Cheri here for The House That Stamps Built, with a super easy resist technique that you can use for almost any card you want to make.

The supplies you'll need are supplies I'm sure you already have.

Supplies:  sponge daubers, (or some other sponge small enough to color your image), dye inks, embossing ink, (I used VersaMark), white embossing powder and an embossing buddy or something else that you use to keep embossing powder from sticking to areas you don't want it to.

Step one:  Use your embossing buddy or whatever you use to keep embossing powders from sticking where you don't want it to.
Step two:  Ink up the stamp of your choice with VersaMark or whatever you use for embossing ink.  Stamp the image then cover it with white embossing powder.
Step three:  Using your sponge, pick up your first color and lightly apply it to your image.

Continue applying color as you desire to the image.  You can blend colors if you like, but always use a light hand when applying the ink.

Step four: Take a clean paper towel or soft cloth and wipe the ink from the raised embossed image.  This makes the image pop and recesses the ink.
Step five:  Assemble your card as you'd like.

Repeat Impression Stamps used for this card are #1505-N "Rose Border" and #3906-H "Easter Blessings".

See!  I told you easy as can be!  I hope you'll give this technique a try and if you do, I think you'll enjoy the results.

INSPIRATION CHALLENGE TIME AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hi blog friends!!!

It's time for an inspiration challenge at The House  and you're going to love it, it brings out the fun and happy in us.  (or at least it did for me!)

The frame was created with Brushos and water, as was the bg inside the window.  Stamps used were RI#306-G "Cat Back", #2501-H "Happy Birthday from.." (I cut this stamp so I could use just the Happy Birthday, I love the size and the font), #3404-C "Random Dots" and #911-F "Balloon"

You will love what the other Rock Stars have done with this inspiration....check them out.

                             Deonna - Heather - Joy Karen - Kathy - Patti J - Shirley

We all hope you'll come over and join in on the challenge....the details are at THE HOUSE.  Your entry will get you into a drawing for a $25.00 gift certificate for Repeat Impression stamps.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
