NOVEMBER 2017 DESIGNER'S CHOICE CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello house people....I'm finally able to publish my post for this fabulous DCC Challenge that Laurie is hosting from The House That Stamps Built.  It's all about "falling for you" using leaves and a fall theme.

I was unable to hook up with the original post that Wendy published because our area was hit by a big wind storm and it knocked out all the power and Internet services.  We were down for 3 days, but I'm happy to be here now catching up and  glad to be posting my card.

To create this card using RI Stamps #5127-K "Maple Leaf Sil" and #3214-G "Thanksgiving Blessings", I first stamped the leaves on a white cs panel with various fall colors of Distress Oxide Inks, layering each color.  I then fussy cut each leaf out leaving a tiny white border around the shape.  Taking a dark brown cs panel, I partially sponged white pegment ink through a stencil (Memory Box) and cut the panel with the a stitched die.  I then positioned the leaves against the sponged stenciling and glued them in place.  The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with white ep.  Finally, I took a fall color assortment of Nuvo drops and Viva Pearl Pens that I had and made tiny droplets around the leaves.

I hope you'll join Laurie and the other Rock Stars and play along with this fabulous challenge.  For details on how to play head on over to THE HOUSE.

OCTOBER 2017 ANYTHING GOES AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello and welcome, house friends!!!!

Here we are at the end of another month of challenges from The House That Stamps Built and it's time for the Anything Goes Challenge!!! (I can hear the roar of happy crafters out there)

You still have a full week to create and join all of this months challenges from start to finish, if you'd like to get in on the big win of a $25.00 gift certificate from Repeat Impressions Stamps.  (I hear another roar of happiness out there).

I made this card for our ATG October challenge

I used masks to create the large white circles (bubbles) after first stamping that adorable witch face (RI#2330-G "Witch Face") and coloring it with Copic Markers inside the bubble.  Once the masks were in place, I used some spray's from Lindy's Gang to create the bg.  Once I was happy with that look, I stamped the sentiment (RI#2301-I "Best Witches...) at the base of the panel.  I had a pen cap and a couple of different sized bottle caps on my craft table, so I stamped them into black ink and used them to creat additional "bubbles" of different sizes on the panel.  I wanted additional drops of the sprays, so I just opened the spray bottles and held the sprayer above the panel and let the ink drop off in various places.  I added some clear dew drops for some dimension and more interest on the card.

There's a lot going on here, and I don't particularly like Halloween, but this card was fun to create and looking at those faces, makes me smile.

For details on how to play along head on over to THE HOUSE.  And you don't want to miss these talented ladies, they have some creations that will rock your creative world for the ATG challenge.

In keeping with the 30 Days of Christmas celebration, here's a card I created using "Hillside Pines" and "All Is Calm All Is Bright".

On a navy blue card stock layer, I stamped the "Hillside Pines" stamp in VersaMark Ink and heat embossed clear ep over it.  I then took Brilliance In (Blue Ice) and dragged it across the image giving it the "snowy" bg.  White paint was flicked across the panel for a snow fall effect.  The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with silver ep.  I used a Nuvo silver glitter marker to outline the sentiment piece.

Thanks so much for stopping by and here is my discount code if you'd like to grab yourself some of those fabulous Technique Junkie Christmas Stamps for 30% off.

OCTOBER 2017 INSPIRATION CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE

Hello house friends!!!

Welcome to our October inspiration challenge from The House That Stamps Built.

I am so inspired by wildlife in more ways than just card creation.  I have such a respect for all those creatures and critters that live in the wild - including the nuisence ones like squirrels.  I love to watch them play and chase each other around in the leaves.  This inspiration gave me a perfect opportunity to play with this fabulous stamp from Repeat Impressions - RI#4210-J "Grey Squirrels".  I also used RI#3313-"Oak Leaf" and 3306-I "Falling Leaves".  Everything was colored with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is a partial stamp from RI#9717-C "Happy Hello".

For additional texture and interest, I added a dry embossed piece of cs in dark brown behind the open oval die cut window and the little dots are from my Viva Pearl pen in gold.

Inspired by this!

What will you create using this inspiration image?  Check out THE HOUSE for all the details.

Please visit my team mates' blogs....they have some fabulous inspiration creations to show you.

Stamped in VersaMark ink on kraft card stock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Colored in with Copic markers and a ghostly effect was produced using my white Prismacolor pencil.  A Wink of Stella clear glitter pen was used to add some glitter to the leaves and holly berries.
