WHAT IF? WEDNESDAY AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hi there blog friends!

Here we are all rolled around to another Wednesday and excited to be bringing you another challenge at The House That Stamps Built.

The challenge this week is a sketch challenge, and you'll have some fun with it, I promise!  I spent some time trying to flip this sketch and nothing I did worked (or I liked, anyway)..let's see what you can do with it!

As you can see from my card, I went with the literal sketch.

The RI Stamps I used for this card are #1208-H "Who Loves ya..", and #118-I "Bear With Heart".

I hope you'll come on over to The House this week and try this sketch challenge.  You can enter your creation in the drawing for a gift certificate for some Repeat Impressions stamps.

Here are links to my team mates for some incredible inspiration using this sketch!

WHAT IF? WEDNESDAY INSPIRATION CHALLENGE

Hello blog friends!

Here we are with another WIW challenge for The House That Stamps Built and this week the challenge is an inspiration challenge.

This photo has so many options for inspiration.  I was inspired by the background.

I purchased some Ken Oliver Color Burst powders awhile back and decided to bring them out and give them a try on creating my background.  Before I did that, I stamped and heat embossed RI Stamp# 4401-O "Dragonfly lg".  I also stamped RI#102-F "Dragonfly" with waterproof ink on the prepared bg.

I'm super excited to be using one of the newest Word Stamp Sets "Happy" for my sentiment.  These word stamps are so much fun to use!  Check them out yourself!

Please join us for the inspiration challenge this week.  You can find the details on how to enter at The House.

Please visit the blogs of my Rock Star team mates for the details on the cards they have created.

DESIGNER'S CHOICE CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello there blog friends!!!!

It's DCC at The House That Stamps Built and this time I'm the designer that creates the challenge!!!  Yippeeee!!!

My challenge this week is (in honor of summer) Sun, Sand and Surf!

I created the bg on this card with my Faber-Castell Gelatos on watercolor paper.  I blended them with a semi-moist wipe, adding more color as needed until I got the results I was looking for.  I love the texture the watercolor paper gave this bg.  Adding the fussy cut RI Stamp #8719-G "Flip Flops", and #2704-G "Life's a Beach" sentiment as well as the umbrella die colored with Copic Markers, finished off this CAS card.

I hope I've inspired you to play along with my Sun, Sand and Surf challenge at The House. For more details on entering the challenge and the great prize you could win, head on over and check it out.

And please don't miss the incredible creations by my Rock Star team mates.  They will "Wow" you.

CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE AT OUTLAWZ

Hello blog friends!

Quick post this morning.

There's a nautical challenge at Outlawz CAS group this week.  Here's a card I made for it.

I used an image from Repeat Impressions of West Quoddy Head Light.
West Quoddy Head in Lubec, Maine, is the easternmost point of the contiguous United States and the closest point to Europe from a point in the fifty States[citation needed]. West Quoddy Head overlooks Quoddy Narrows, a strait between Canada and the United States. Since 1808, there has been a lighthouse there to guide ships through the waterway. The current one, with distinctive red-and-white stripes, was built in 1858. Photographs and paintings of this lighthouse are frequently reproduced. The 3rd order Fresnel lens is the only 3rd order and one of only eight Fresnel lenses still in use on the Maine Coast.[5]

This card is also being entered in the Crazy 4 Challenges "Lighthouse" challenge.

Have a great day!
