COLOR CHALLENGE - THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hi blog friends!!!

Are you having fun with the new challenge rotation at The House That Stamps Built? There's a new challenge every week...and you can really get your craft on by participating in them.

This week, it's a color challenge....you might not think this one is too challenging, but, for me it was a true challenge.

Here's the challenge

I am so loving watercoloring backgrounds these days and I thought this challenge might work for a background so I created this card.

To create the silhouette look I used RI Stamp #2408-N "Large Palm Trees" #2417-I "Small Palm Trees" as well as RI#3412-C "Gulls in Flight and finally the sentiment RI#2407-G "Life's A Beach".    I used a stitched frame from MFT to frame it and layered it on a black card base.

Thank you for stopping by.  Check out the other awesome ideas using these colors from the incredible Rock Stars then play along.  The details for entering the challenge and how to win some awesome RI stamps can be found at The House.

ANYTHING GOES CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hi blog friends!

There's an exta week tucked into this month of April, so there's an additional challenge at The House That Stamps Built and it's an "anything goes challenge".  So join in and have some fun with whatever you'd like to do for the challenge!

Here is a card I made for the challenge.  I love the dog stamps that Wendy has created for Repeat Impressions.  I'm a dog person....and a cat's person and love, love, love her dog and cat stamps.

Very quick card to put together.  The Repeat Impressions stamps I used are RI#8109-L "Poodle" and RI#8113-F "Life Without Dogs" .  The poodle was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.

All the details for this challenge can be found at The House.

For lots more ideas and inspiration for this anything goes challenge, check out the other Rock Stars!

WHAT IF? WEDNESDAY AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello blog friends!

It's Wednesday and if you're a regular follower, you know each Wednesday, there's a new challenge over at The House That Stamps Built.  This week it's a sketch challenge.  Come on over and join the fun and get in a drawing to win some awesome Repeat Impressions stamps.

Wendy, owner and amazing artist of Repeat Impressions stamps, comes up with a sketch each month for us to play with and this month she came up with this

So, what do you think?  Pretty neat sketch, don't you think?  Lots of opportunity here to use some awesome bg papers or scraps or even give the sketch a flip.

Here is my card using the sketch.

For this card I used three of the Repeat Impressions patriotic type stamps  RI#1701-P "Bald Eagle" , RI#5104-C "Star Sil Sm." and RI#3711-G "God Bless America".  I decided to keep this monochromatic and used kraft paper plain and embossed with gold embossing powder (although I don't think you can see that one strip very well in the bg).

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you'll join the challenge this week.  For more inspiration, check out these awesome blogs

WHAT IF? WEDNESDAY - FROM THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Happy Wednesday, blog friends!!

It's time for another What If? Wednesday challenge at The House That Stamps Built and this week it's an inspiration challenge.  I love playing with inspiration challenges (I know that's weird....most people don't like them) and have lots of fun seeing what I can create using them.

Here's the inspiration we're challenged with this week...

Are your creative wheels spinning?  This is such a great inspiration piece and I hope you'll give it a try and play along.  If you do, you'll be in the running for some great RI stamps.  You ecan see the details at The House.

Here is a card I made using this inspiration

I was drawn to the "swirls" and "streaks" of rain as much as the colors.  I chose to use RI Stamp #6909-M "Pinwheel Positive" and used heat embossing with white ep to create the "swirls".  I then used watercolor paints to add the background color and once dry, I added stickles in streaks to create the pouring rain.  My sentiment die is from My Favorite Things and was a freebie.  I cut the sentiment 3 times with different cs colors and off set them in order to get the "shadow" look.  The stitched rectangle frame die is also from MFT.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll join the challenge at The House.  If you'd like to see more inspiration, check out the other Rock Stars....you'll see some fabulous cards.

CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE AT OUTLAWZ CHALLENGES

Hi there, blog friends!

There's a new CAS challenge at Outlawz Challenes and it's all about humor.  The challenge is hosted by the very talented Linda Anderson and here is her challenge.

April is National Humor Month. Laughter is the best medicine. It's infectious, and far more contagious than any cough, sniffle or sneeze. Let's make a CAS card this week filled with humor, a joke, or something punny.

Here is a card I made for the challenge using this Bugaboo digi.   I don't often use digi stamps because I have a healthy (understatement) collection of rubber and clear stamps and love using them.  That said, the sponsors for some of the CAS challenges have been digi stamp companies and I wanted to try using them in an effor to support their sponsorship.  I have to say, these stamps are really fun to use.

My image can been seen here.  I printed it on Copic Xpress paper and colored with (my favorites) Copic markers.

I hope to see you playing in the challenge.  You have until mid-night Saturday, April 18 to play and enter into the drawing for some awesome prizes.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous week.
