QUITE A CATCH BLOG HOP

Hi everyone!  Thanks for stopping by.  Gina K released some great new stamp sets last month and this one (Quite a Catch) is sooooo much fun to play with.  I hope you enjoy the hop, and please leave a comment if you'd like to, I love reading them.

I just love this little face.....it's a favorite stamp of mine.  I guess it's because I often relate to the expression, LOL.  Anyway, I thought it would look good stamped with the Warhol Technique and I made it for my cousin's 50th birthday.  He's been having anxiety over turning 50, and I thought this face just gets the message across.  The CS is GKD (nothing better) colors, white, smokey slate, turquoise sea and red hot.  CuttleBug embossing folder and Nesstabilities were also used.

Isn't she a cutie?  I called this one "Fin'cess Fillet".  CS:  GKD Turquoise Sea, Bubble Gum Pink and White.

Have lots of fun seeing what my StampTV friends have created with this stamp set.

Red, White and Blue Challenge

A Blessed Good Day to each of you, my friends!

I'm very excited because one of my friend over at StampTV , Vicki Dutcher, sent me an invitation to play along on a new color challenge at Speedy the Cat's Friends blog.  The challenge is to make a card or project using the colors Red, White and Blue (doesn't have to be patriotic).  When I got the email invite, I was already in the process of creating a card for Gina's new technique challenge at StampTV this week.  Woohoo...a two-fer!!!

My card does happen to be patriotic because memorial day is in a few weeks, and I am from a family of US military patriots that goes all the way back to the Revolutionary War and continues in Iraq and Afghanistan today.   I'm going to send this card to "any hero" at Operation Write Home along with some other cards I've made for them.  It can apply to male or female - as we all know it's not just men putting their lives on the line in our military.

Thanks, Vicki - here's my card.

CS:  GKD Pure Luxury white, In the Navy and Red Hot.  Stamps are GKD Lovely Labels, Guiding Light, by Rupa Shevde and Masculine Messages.  The background letterpress technique is showcased by Gina K at StampTV this week and I used Vivid "Garnet" to get the effect.  Go on over and check it out.

Have a great day!

Dad Rocks

I've titled this card, "Dad Rocks".  I love the new stamps I got from Papertreyink, especially these chairs.  I'm entering this in CardPatterns Sketch 61 this week.  I've been wanting to jump in on some of their great sketches challenges, especially since soooo many of my StampTV friends have showed off some great sketches from here.  Here's my card.

SKETCH 61 - DAD ROCKS

I used GKD Pure Luxury "All Spruced Up" for my base and Kraft as the layer.  I embossed the Kraft later with the new embossing plate from Papertreyink, "Woodgrain Impression Plate".  I sponged it with Distressed Ink "Old Paper" from Ranger.  Stamp "DAD" is from GKD "Guiding Light" set by Rupa Shevde and the chair and "You Rock" sentiment is from Papertreyink, "Chair-ished" set.  The chair was inked with Distressed Ink "Barn Door".

Thanks for stopping by!!!!
Have a great day.

Catching Up On Postings

Once again, time has gotten away from me and it's been quite a while since I've posted cards.  My last posting was for the Gina K Design Summer Barbecue Recipe Blog Hop and what a fun time that was.  I hope you'll go check out the recipes and download them and the cover for your own cookbook collection.   It's all FREE!

Here are some cards that I've been creating since that blog hop.  I hope you like them and if you'd like the details on them you can check that out at my page at StampTV.  Membership is free there and you can view an incredible array of gorgeous cards from StampTV members.

Here's my first card:

I've been playing with making paper flowers and I've found so many great tutorials.  I found this one at Dawn McVey's blog  I've found others too that I'll post later.  Very cool techniques out there.

This is a great technique that Gina K has over at StampTV.  It's her feature technique this week entitled "Stenciling with Impressabilities".  Her challenge was to do a batik look.

Gina K had a release party Thursday night and I made this card for the color challenge  of Turquoise, Lemon and a Neutral.

Here's another one for the Gina K Release Party.  This one I made for the Sketch Challenge.

Are you tired of looking yet?  If you're not, I have ONE MORE.

This stamp is so pretty.  It's from a set called "Sending Sunshine" by Theresa Momber, one of the Gina K designers.

Okay, that's enough for now.  I've caught up a little bit.  Thanks so much for stopping by and for taking the time to look at my cards.

Have a great week!

It's time for another CSS Blog hop!

Several members of the CenterStage Spotlight Alumni team have gathered some of their favorite BBQ Picnic recipes together for us to make another cookbook!  The cookbook will be available for FREE over on the StampTV Freebie page for you to download and print at your leisure.

But, since we are paper crafters - we challenged them even further to make a project with their recipe in mind to share with us tonight on their blogs!  (The projects are also included in photos on the recipe booklet as well.)

Please check out the links of all the participating designers and then download the Recipe booklet and let us know how you like them!
