Warm and Toasty Love

Greetings from the frozen tundra of Maine!  The temps showed a frigid  +5 degrees F this morning.  It's the kind of weather that will freeze your nostrils together as soon as you take that first deep breath.  However, as my father used to say, it's "invigorating. At least you'll know you're alive".  Dad's wisdom.

Okay, aside from the weather report from Maine, I have a card that I'd like to showcase, but it's not an original.  I CASE'd it from my CSSDT colleague, Karen Knegten on StampTV.  Karen is an outstanding crafter and I am a devoted fan of her creations.  Check out her StampTV page right here .

It was difficult getting a good photo of this because the fabulous paper used for the toaster is so wonderful and chrome-like, I kept getting reflections from it.

Paper: Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess, GKD Pure Luxury White, Cardstock Online .
Stamps:  GKD "Sung From the Heart" by Rupa Shevde.
Miscellaneous:  Punch MS, Ribbon GKD, Spellbinder Nesstabilities.

Thanks, Karen for the inspiration and the link.

I love these stamps from "I Brake For Stamps " called "Glamor Girls".

Paper:  Basic Grey "Bittersweet, Raspberry Cream", GKD Pure Luxury Passionate Pink and Wine with Everything and Ivory.

Stamps:  I Brake for Stamps

Ribbon:  GKD

Thank you for visiting and please sign my guest book and/or leave some love.

Weekend Stamping

I hope you had a good weekend.  I've been busy with house chores as well as stamping.  On Saturday I went to my Altered Book class and turned in my 5 pages for the class Alphabet Gothic Arches.  I'm sorry  I didn't get photos of my pages before handing them in, but I'll post them when I get them back from our instructor.  She's going to take everyone's pages and have them copied so we can all build a book of our collected work.  It's going to be fantastic to see all of the pages together.  My letters were H, I, O, P and K.

Then I did some cards for a couple of challenges over at StampTV , I was hoping to do a couple of other challenges for some other sites I like, but that was about all I had time for this weekend.

So here's my first card for the Gina's challenge at StampTV.  I made both cards in the theme of the upcoming Valentine's Day.
The recipe for this card is:
Paper:  GKD Kraft, Romance Assortment.  DP is Graphic45.
Stamps:  GKD "Sung From the Heart" by Rupa Shevde.

Paper:  GKD Pure Luxury Ivory and Pink CS.
Stamps:  Same as above.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you all have a great week.

Oh Boy! More Fun!

A New Award!

This was passed to me from my stamping friend, Mary Anne.  Thanks so much for thinking of me! If you get a chance, please visit her blog and leave her some love. Mary Anne/MA54K
One of the rules for this award is to tell you 10 things about myself.
1. I used to smoke
2. I once worked for the FBI
3. I'm in love with my husband.
4. I used to play ice hockey on a woman's hockey team.
5. I love a good glass of red wine especially when there are friends around to enjoy it with.
6. I like poking around antique places.
7. I love making iMovie Slideshows with old family photos. (It's my other craft passion)
8. My serious side is inactive most of the time, however, my silly side is always ready to go.
9. I'm hopelessly in love with cardmaking.  I had no idea when I discovered stamping and wonderful papers that I would become so attached to a craft.
10. While I'm at work all day, I'm daydreaming about making cards.
Now I have to pick some folks to pass this on to.  Play along if you like.  Just copy and pasts to your blog and change the names to the ones you select to play along.
Can't wait to learn more about you girls!

Kitty Thoughts of You

Hello there friends,

I haven't had a lot of time to post or create, my 84 year old Mom, who lives with us due to the insidious disease of dementia has been in the hospital with a massive blood clot in her leg.  I just want to give everyone an encouragement here - I know we all love stamping and that usually means we're going to be sitting for long periods of time - try and get out and walk as much as you can each day.  Take stairs instead of elevators when you can.  Move your body, avoid such things as blood clots.  Movement doesn't require workouts at the gym, or anything exhausting, it just healthy for us to do that.  Just throwing that out there.

I've just begun purchasing Copic color markers and I've been playing with my stamps with using them.  It's a long learning curve, but still fun for me.  This card is one I made this week while playing with them and the GKD new stamp set designed by Theresa Momber over at StampTV, called "Purrr-fectly Delightful".  This set just makes me smile all over.

Stamps:  GKD "Purrr-fectly Delightful", by Theresa Momber.

CS Papers:  GKD Pure Luxury White, Vibrant Violet and Ocean Mist.  DP is October Afternoon "Ducks in a Row"

Other:  Copic markers, Prsimacolor Art Markers, CuttleBug Folder "Dotted Swiss", Spellbinder Oval Nessties, Stickles, 3-D Crystal Lacquer (brings out the kitty's eyes), ribbon from GKD.

Have a great day everyone!
