Beautiful Sunset

Hi blog friends!
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments and for stopping by on the CSS Alumni blog hop card drive for kids with spina bifida.  I hope you all had a chance to participate in the drive - and it's not too late - there are some great prizes being awarded and some extra special kids to send cards to.

Today I'm posting a card I made for a challenge over at Color Throw Down #164   using these colors
The background of my card is where these colors come together.  For the background, I used Distress Inks, direct to paper.  There is no way of knowing when you begin this technique what the results will be - to me, it's part of the fun.  I liked the results of the background and I decided to use the cone flowers from Theresa Momber's "Heartfelt" stamp set as a focal image.   (I was so honored to be asked to be Theresa's guest designer in the release of these stamps).

Here's my card:

Background was created using Distress Inks "Ripe Persimmon", "Peeled Paint" and "Dusty Concord".  The stamps:  "Heartfelt", "By the Sea" by Theresa Momberand  and "Hugs and Prayers"  by Nina Brackett, all for Gina K. Designs.  Cone Flowers were colored with image with Copic Markers.  I used a Gelly Roll Pen by Sakura for the centers of the flowers and it created the light flashes and what looks like white spots on them.

Thanks so much for dropping by.  Have a wonderful day!
