DECEMBER 2018 INSPIRATION CHALLENGE AT THE HOUSE THAT STAMPS BUILT

Hello house friends!  

We've got an inspiration challenge for you at The House That Stamps Built blog today and we hope you'll be inspired to join us.  

To create this card I first stamped then masked off RI Stamp #3814-K "Ornament Frame" in the area where I wanted the focal image to be on an 80# white cs panel.  I then sponged two Distress Inks (Peeled Paint and Spun Sugar) for a background.  

Once the background was semi-dry, and leaving the mask in place, I very, very lightly sprayed RI# 5103-I "Ornament Sil" with water and set it down on the background in areas were I wanted the ink to be removed, creating a "ghost" effect.  I quickly dabbed up any excess moisture with a soft cloth. 

Letting this process to completely dry, I then splattered some white acrylic paint mixed with water over the panel.  

The mask was removed from the focal image and RI#2012-H "Poinsettia"  was then stamped in light gray ink in the center of the bulb.  I used Copic markers to color the background of the bulb around the poinsettia as well as the poinsettia itself.  

Copic Markers were used to create faint lines or strings for the bulbs and a gel glitter pen was used to add a little sparkle.  It's subtle, but RI Stamp # 2015-D "Tiny Poinsettia"  was stamped into the bg with water to create more texture.  

To finish off the card, I used a Viva glitter pen to add silver dimension to the bulb hanger piece.  A torn edge die was used to cut and frame the panel and Distress Ink was used to add a dark edging.  

Here's the inspiration.  As you can readily see, I gravitated toward the colors and the poinsettia.
