CSS DT Alumni Treasure Chest Challenge

Happy Summer and Welcome to another fabulous StampTV Center Stage Alumni Design Team Blog Hop.  This hop is a Treasure Chest challenge called "getting wordy".  We've been challenged to let the words be the focal image of our project.

If you've come here from the extremely talented Giovana's blog, then you're in the right place, if not, we invite you to take this hop from the BEGINNIG and see ALL the inspiration.  AND, Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (June 28th), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs who will get a stamp set of their choice valued up to $24.95!

The cards I made for this challenge are CAS and can be assembled easily. If you don't have a lot of time and want to make quick cards for someone special, these might give you some inspiration.
Here is my first card and it's all about celebrating the 4th of July!  Hooray! for the USA and it's longevity in democracy.  I made this card to share with the Alzheimer's facility where my mom has been residing.    These folks know all about the cost of freedom and how to celebrate it, so this is for them.

For this card I used two of Melanie Muenchinger's stamp sets - the first is the back ground flourish and swirls that I made using "Bring the Bling" and "Hip to be Square" for the sentiment.  To "bling" the flourishes, I used Ruby Red Liquid Pearls and Dark blue Stickles.  The big paper flowers are colored with Copic Markers R46 and B29.  GKD Pure Luxury White CS was used for the base and "Little Boy Blue" and "Red Hot" were used for the layering.  The sentiment was punched with a MS punch and covered with a Tim Holtz Circle Fragment.

Here's another CAS card and for this one I took my inspiration from the cover of Paper Creations Magazine.  The sentiment I used is from the set  "Fairy Tales" by Tami Mayberry.  GKD Pure Luxury Kraft is used for the layer and "Dandelion", "Little Boy Blue" and "Red Hot" were used for the packages.  The ribbon is from GKD fabulous collection of ribbons.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Now hop on over to the fabulously talented Carolina's blog as I KNOW she has an outstanding project to inspire you.

Have a great weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!
